Millions of people have an iphone, only about 900 own bugatti's
Millions of people take payday loans. Is this a good reason for promoting them on MSE?
Millions gamble. Should MSE introduce some odds checker tool for finding the best odds? This will definitely help gamblers to lose less in the long run.
How about "The Cheapest Alcohol" article and a tool?

You can't compare a 1400% APR payday loan with an iphone. Thats ludicrous.

This thread is for the 3 odd million current iphone users in the uk to make the right informed decision about whether to upgrade, or whether to buy a much cheaper iphone 4. and its for the rest of the populous to make an informed decision on how much an iphone actually costs.

And the idea that all providers offer the same coverage - you sir, are incorrect. I base that not on a google but by personal experience, a company working at Heathrow changing everyone to vodafone because noone else could provide reliable site coverage for example (even o2).

You have branded me incorrect when you are incorrect yourself.

I no longer wish to converse on this subject matter.

Bye bye from a very happy iPhone user, with a reliable service provider. £90 out of pocket, it would appear, but still very happy in the long run, and always connected / backed up.

Why? Is it not ridiculous to pay 30% APR for financing a luxury (non-essential) item at the time when interest rates are close to zero? And was the number of people using iPhnones not your only argument?

Are you saying that there are only two parts of the populus and both are equally eager to know the newest prices? Also, what about neither upgrading nor buying iP 4 and keeping the existing handset?

I have never said this. I merely pointed out that the coverage generally has nothing to do with a network being 'lesser known'. All 4 major providers are known more or less equally.

Thanks for the compliment, but I'd prefer some examples that I asked you for.

As I said on another thread, the new iPhone is about the same price as two reasonable laptops and contains less hardware and software, so customers are paying a lot for the added value they perceive in the design and brand. I can't see it as worth more than £250.

And personally I'm a bit bored with new iPhone owners whingeing that it has signal in fewer places than their previous phone. Once is enough. If it bothers you after that change again or back.

Given that an iPod Touch 4 is £169 and it is the same as an iPhone but without the phone or GPS functions, you might be right.

Giffgaff sims arrive about 4 days after ordering. They provide pop out nano sims.
Also, it isn't hard to cut down any SIM from any provider. Just buy a SIM punch from ebay for about £2.50

Best deal for iPhone 5 surely is buy an unlocked phone from Apple - £529, then get a £10 goodybag each month, recurring (unlimited data/unlimited texts/250 mins/free giffgaff to giffgaff). Total cost over 24 months =£32.04 per month and no contract to get out of. No brainer... am I missing something?

No one produces pop out nano sims. For one thing you cannot cut down a sim, like you could with a mini sim, as they are also thinner.

The plans are set as Apple get a % of plan rate, but FREE usually "chargeable" bundles are extra's 3 can add to your account to retain your custom for another 24 months ;)

Where on earth did you get this info. Apple are never paid %'s of Plan Rate. and they never have been. Carriers have this with android Devices but NOT apple devices, this is because apple has always based they business model on selling device's and not subzidising the Carriers.

Carriers pay full price on these handsets from apple and then its upto Carriers to determine how they chanrge the customers. Apple ensure Carriers do what carriers have to do which is look after the plans and terms of service and let apple do what its suppose to do which is look after the phone
