  • I received a letter from Chatsworth & Co too. Personally, I don't believe anything that is stated and think it is all a scam. If you look at the registered addresses of both wowbuys and chatsworth & co on the letters, they are identical: Cowick Grange, Goole Road, West Cowick, East Riding of Yorkshire, DN14 9DH. So, they are registered at the same building in the middle of nowhere (check it out on Google Maps). If you Google for Chatsworth & Co, you get redirected to some other debt website. Also, I gave my personal details and card security code during the purchase. Make sure you cancel your card and be vigilant of identity fraud! Reported to Action Fraud.

Here's two companies he has been director of

Doesn't seem to know how to run a legitimate company

The company is now administered by the liquidators, this isn't a scam, it would be daft if the registered address of the company didn't change. It is a pity that what I thought would happen is what happened, and fairly quickly too.
  • If you type "whois" in google and then search on the network solutions site in the "who is" search bar for the website you are talking about.

You may just find an address to contact..

Just got an email from them today, latest offer is Samsung LCD tvs, they have no shame.

50% of an ipad to, how can they still operate?
  • My bank don't seem to want to or be able to help seeing as I paid via a debit card - sorry if I missed info in earlier threads but how on earth do I get my money back? I did all of the emails, registering with chatsworth etc...

Just logged into the The Creditor Gateway site and downloaded the "Director's report to creditors" document posted on 1/11/2012. There are reams and reams of names and addresses of Creditors listed, but the biggest debt is "Director loan and outstanding wages" accounting for £320,000:

David Philllips <address listed in the doc> 145,000.00
    David O'Driscoll <address listed in the doc> 65,000.00

Phillip Spurden <address listed in the doc> 110,000.00

Nice round numbers aren't they - very convenient to be owed such a perfect amount in the middle of a financial year.

Amusingly, "The director attributes the failure and insolvency of the company to the non payment from its two largest clients and the general lack of trade due to the underlying economy." What BS!

So that reads they've made a £320k profit, as i said above i've had 2 emails from them in the last 5 days, so they still seem to be trading. Sorry your having problems getting your money refunded, hope things work out.
  • I tried to purchase two ipad 2s last night for xmas from nhsdiscountsdaily.com. I tried twice but according to the site both transactions failed. This was after i had entered my card details without any form of security verification popping up as it usually would. I intended to chase this up this morning and check my account. However, this morning i recieved a call from Santander fraud department who were querying the transactions - and thankfully so. After being told by the site that the transactions had failed, it transpired that both had gone through without any verification. santander also informed me that there were 4 attempts in total. I'm not an idiot, i know how to purchase online and i know i only attempted it twice. Something is very wrong here.
    Top marks to Santander! Cheers.

for some reason the website re-activated itself over the weekend the liquidation company are investigating, but as they have already requested that the company bank account be closed then those who have purchased anything this weekend your money has no-where to go should just automatically come back to you.
