  • I've just contacted my bank (Halifax) and been advised that I now have to wait 14 days to give these fraudsters time to give me my money back before they will begin an investigation.
Is it correct that it would be a completely different policy becuase I made the purchase via a debit card instead of a credit card?

    Yes that's right.

With a debit card you are relying on the policies of the card issuer.

With a credit card, the situation is covered by Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.

MSE has two articles that explain these processes:

Have just returned from holiday and read the posts on here, I will be contacting my bank tomorrow to ask about chargeback and hopefully will get money back that way. will also be contacting Action Fraud as suggested on earlier post. Can't believe they are still trading if they have gone into administration!!! Keep my fingers crossed I get money back through the bank then.

    Absolutely nothing wrong with that.

    From MSE's Administration Help article...
    Q. What is administration?

    A. It means an insolvency firm has been called in to run the company, and get what cash it can for creditors, by selling or utilising its assets. In theory, a business can be kept running as a 'going concern', but this is unlikely in the long term.
  • As I said in an earlier post I contacted the bank after not knowing where i stood in regards to paying with a debit card. 48 hours later I've had my refund from halifx!!
The company is not in administration by the way, I contacted a number given to me by Action Fraud who has listed companies in liquidation/administraion and the 3 businesses they operate from are not on it.
Please please everybody phone action fraud, DO NOT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THIS
  • Have contacted my bank and should have money back in my account within 20 days as they have to investigate the fraud they say. Thanks for the help everyone.:)
  • Not surprisingly the Friday post has come and gone without a letter from this company - can't work out what they are actually calling themselves this week, so not sure what to call them!
  • Received scruffy letter today from Wowbuys - todays name - asking everyone to email them requesting refund. Would appear we will need to wait up to 60 days for this - but am not holding my breath that one will appear. They say refund of vouchers but as it was a direct sale rather than voucher, who knows what we will get - if anything. The company is now going to be called Yehsmedia! Thats at least 3 name changes! What amazes me is that the CEO of this company can continue to operate when he has already defied a Court order to pay staff wages from his company Flash Incentives! Who says the good guys always win!
  • hi guys

    filled online form.
i m requesting to everyone to fill or call them so they can stop these website.

    good luck:money:
  • Useful info. I got as far as receiving a letter with instructions to email for refund claim - I've never heard of this before, most companies refund automatically. Initially thought "typical NHS" but on reading this thread I'll be contacting credit card co. and fraud action team.
    To WOW buys:

    To you guys:
