Hi guys, it appears I've also been duped by this website, after falling for the very attractive iPad price that landed in my NHS e-mail account last Friday.
I became suspicious myself when my Hotmail flagged the confirmation e-mail as suspicious - thinking Hotmail was being overzealous, I visited the website only to find a contact form, no e-mail address or contact number. I received an automated, we will respond within 72 hours e-mail. My 'detective work' on this website led me to this thread, and I realised with a sinking feeling and mild heart palpitations that it really was too good to be true (should have listened to my mother's advice).
Following some very helpful advice on here, I have taken the following steps and thought I would share:- Contacted the website. Suffice to say, despite the fact I've sent them around 7 e-mails since last Friday, I have heard nothing from them. When they failed to respond to my request to confirm expected delivery dates, I then made sure I stated I wanted a refund (to ensure it was within the 7 day limit outlined in their abysmal T's and C's).
- Contacted the liquidators, Chatsworth & Co, to request something in writing I could use as evidence.
- Contacted Action Fraud. Incredibly helpful, they gave me a crime number, plenty of advice and access to support if required. They advised me to keep evidence of all e-mails sent to the company, received from them, and evidence from the liquidators if possible. They said all this would help in any future prosecution if it ever got that far and would also help provide the bank with evidence if you are requesting a chargeback (i.e. you paid on a Visa debit card like myself and want to dispute a payment made).
- Contacted my bank, Santander. This is where different people will have different experiences/policies applied. Santander said I would have to wait 15 days before they could issue a dispute. They made it clear to me that I needed to give the company a chance to refund my account. As the original offer said I would receive my product within 7-10 days, they said that would also mean I was giving them chance to follow through on delivery. I suppose this is very sensible but when you're impatient like me it seems like a lifetime (I wanted them to do something NOW!) On the 15th day, if I still have not received a refund, they advised me to call back, speak to someone regarding raising a dispute, they would log the details and send me a form to fill in. I would need to sign the form, return to Santander and the money should be back in my account within 48 hours of receipt by themselves. They said at this time I should also think about cancelling my card. This is the funny thing; Action Fraud advised me to cancel my card right away, whereas the bank said this was not the best thing to do until the 15 day period was up, as cancelling my card wouldn't stop them claiming money from my account ...
- Made sure the organisation I work attempts to block the e-mails coming through to our NHS accounts.
I hope you all get a satisfactory result!
Hi cybercow, I was advised to cancel my card purely because I wouldn't want them to take anything unauthorised. I've done the same as you plus speaking to visa chargeback and completing the watchdog questionnaire. I had an mail today claiming that my refund is being processed, fingers crossed! Good luck!0 -
i received email stating refund due in 3-5 working days, tomorrow is the deadline, fingers crossed as it has not been actioned yet0

I have just spoken to Santander and they refuse to do anything until 15 days is up. I have emailed NHSdiscounts every day and of course will not get anything back. I have spoken to Chatsworth and they are only dealing with the liquidation of Wowbuys which is one of the former companies . KSA Group are dealing with another called Flash Incentives, but at the moment Zappideals is not shown as being in liquidation so i think its all very strange and i cannot get a reply from Chatsworth to an email i sent them. I also wonder how did this company get out internal email addresses at the NHS0

One other thing Santander gave me a telephone number for Zappideals that they had been given 01895876500 as far as i can see this is in Bharmour in India0

Hi diamondk/Unhapp - I too received not one, but two e-mails from nhsdailydiscounts, apologising and promising a refund within 3-5 days as per the terms of their merchant bank ... fingers crossed eh?? Will post if I receive anything back from them.0

Hi all, I too appear to have fallen foul of this con. As an NHS employee, I was registered with NHSDiscountsDaily since it began back in 2011. Having used them successfully previously I trusted them as it wasnt some new website.
I am however disappointed that no one, such as NHSdiscounts.com attempted to contact all their members to let them know of the problems around the "...daily" site and scam as it was them that first introduced me to the "..daily" site back then.
Anyway, I am patiently awaiting 15 days to start chargeback, however having done some detective work, I have found two phone numbers. The office number at Regus House in Uxbridge for Zappideals. Last night I got through to an answer message but this morning its not ringing - 01895876500, and I also have a mobile number for what I believe is David Phillips himself (owner/director of all these companies). A fella answered, when I asked if he was David, he asked who I was then hung up. Maybe everyone wants to call him or text him to ask him where their order is?? 07771395585.
I got this number off the site ;

wow, having rang the mobile number above, David did indeed answer. i have just had a polite conversation with mr phillips himself - owner of all these companies and owner it seems to nhsdiscountsdaily, he seemed to know what i was talking about when i was discussing my issues with the site and my order and lack of refund (although the liquidators tell me that he advised them he has sold this on - dodgy), he simply advised me to text him my name and email address and he will ensure a refund is followed up. whether or not this will be i dont hold out much hope. he was in a rush to get off the phone to me as expected. i was tactful as i didnt want him to hang up. i will now update action fraud with these details0

Hi Unhapp, did he even try to offer any form of reassurance that people werent being ripped off and that orders would be fulfilled?0 -
no but i didnt take that stance with him i simply requested a refund and was cowardly as didnt want to scare him off0

Following on from Unhapp contacting David direct I texted him (I am at work so could not call) giving him details of my order number and basically telling him I wanted a refund and I was dissapointed that despite emailing the company 5 times no one had bothered to acknowledge any of my emails. As well as this I spoke to Action Fraud who were very familiar with the company. I received a crime number which may help in recouping my money back from my bank. Like many banks HSBC said I have to wait 15 days before the start the ball rolling however they said they will post out the declaration form so at least I can start filling it out beforehand.0
