still no refund despite email on 17/11/12 to state i would receive refund via method paid in 3-5 working days and david philips also verbally telling me he would ensure refund request is followed up. of course i didnt believe this for one minute. will hopefully start chargeback process today, david philips no longer answering mob and ignoring texts requesting refund. natwest continue to be unhelpful and didnt close my account after all (despite me being sat with branch manager and signing to confirm this had all been done prior to the payment being made and no payments at the time were pending). now being charged for being overdrawn due to the £260.99 coming out of account when no funds (all funds transferred due to "closure" of account which was never actioned). nightmare from start to finish and not yet finished. the quicker i can be rid of natwest and nhsdsicountsdaily or whatever name they are going by now the better.

As you have closed your original account have you checked with your bank that there is an account for any attempted refunded from Zappideals to be paid into?
  • After the long email they sent out, I replied asking where my refund was (originally asked for it on 13/11/12). I received a reply at 9.10pm tonight which is a very strange time. It says my refund should be with me "any time now".

"Any time now" are the kind of words a takeaway would use when you call them asking where your food is. It basically means "we have no idea". I fear that these people do have an idea where my refund is, its as credit in their account.

For people who have received a refund, could you say if you paid on credit card or debit card and how many iPad's you ordered.

I think they might only be refunding payments made from credit card as they are much easier to get back the payments made for debit card. Also, I think they are trying to keep the larger payments rather than the smaller ones.

I still wait in hope though!

my account was never closed by the bank - despite me going through the process and signing all the paperwork, the zappideals transaction came out the same day and for that reason the closure of the account was never completed in full - unbeknownst to me at the time. so no, an attempted refund has never occured as there is no reason this would be blocked as the account has always remained open

I have sent numerous emails now with not a single response would love to know why they are choosing to contact some people yet not others all I want is a straight forward response.

Hi All, I posted a couple of pages ago, started the enquiries direct to David Phillips with his mobile number. Like many of you am an NHS employee who has used the website previously and so trusted it!

Anyway, I have thankfully received my refund yesterday. Paid by debit card, so this is the end to a very worrying week or so.

Would love to know if anyone receives their iPad or what todays update on deliveries is though.

I paid by Debit Card and ordered x2 ipad's, fingers crossed you get your refund
  • Hi All,

i also posted a few days ago. I have thankfully received a full refund, i paid for 2 ipads on my debit account. The money went out and came back under the name zappideals. My friend has also reveived his refund on credit card.

I think the best advice to follow would be
    1) Cancel your card, not account, just incase they really are naughty and use your number without consent
    2) Ask for a refund via the contact page on the website - if you ask within 7 days of order their T&Cs should cover you (that is what we did). see my email below. If you are asking after 7 days you will probably have to wait until you do not receive your goods and go through the visa/mastercard chargeback procedure which asks you to wait 15 days. Conatct details for the website and owner are all on previous threads
    3) Speak to actionfraud - these people should be stopped
    4) Fill in the watchdog questionnaire on their website - we should try to expose them.

    My letter:
I am writing to request a refund for three transactions made on Friday 16/11/12. Refs: xxxxx
I am requesting these refunds (including the P&P) under the distance selling regulations (get link from this website)

I feel I have been missold the merchandise as the page displayed when buying them stated that you must read the "fine print". The "fine print" is published on the same page. However, it does not mention that the terms and conditions are different and also need to be read.

    "The Fine Print
Multiples can be purchased – Up to 5
Postage is not included in the deal price and is an additional £9.99 per item upon purchasing this deal
Your products will be sent direct from the supplier once the deal closes.
Please allow 10 days for delivery from the end date of the deal
By purchasing a deal, you are purchasing the products described above"

If I had known that I would be buying a voucher as oppose to the product I would not have continued with the purchases.
I am extremely disappointed as I have used this site before and was unaware that it had been taken over/changed hands.
Please note; I DO NOT wish to have a credit to the website, I want the money returned back into the bank account/credit card used under your T&C 6.3.4 / 6.3.5.

I expect to hear from you within 72 hours as stated in your return emails from your information centre.

Like I say, i thankfully got my money back and have a new card so they cant take it again (there was lots of waiting and the banks were all very unsure as the payment was pending for ages). I hope others are as successful or get their products. Please let us know what happens everybody, I have found this site so helpful, it is good to keep everyone in the same loop!

    Good luck everyone x

went to natwest today to start chargeback process, when it was looked into properly zappideals had in fact tried to make a refund to my debit card BUT because the card had been cancelled they were unable to. Therefore the refund was "floating".
My branch manager had assured me at the time of cancelling my card that this was the right thing to do and that cancelling my card would not prevent a refund, providing the account remained open.
It turns out - as with everything else natwest have advised me - this is not the case! i would therefore advise you if you have cancelled your card from which the payment was made this may be why you have not received a refund. my money is now back with me :-)
