With regard to your observation, as someone who has looked into this briefly for an affected friend, the following information may be of interest to take forward and may be useful if these sites continue to spawn in other guises.
The deals websites you have been affected by, dailyhealthservic!!!!!!!!!! [this forum prevents correct posting of the new operations name] & nhsdiscountsdaily are being hosted in Germany, and are running on a CMS (content management system) called getsocio, apparently created and solely operated by a web development outlet in the Ukraine. The development outlet appear to be called AnaHoret Ltd, and/or Anadea Inc.
If the people who are responsible for this particular strain of NHS targeted deal websites are using this software directly, as is likely since it's method for use is a direct 'DIY deals site' CMS solution, the company running the top level aspect of this service are also taking or working on commission from the operators of the deals sites created. You can see how this works and the structure published on the getsocio website.
Both getsocio and the NHS deals websites identified in this thread are operating from the same hosting provider, Hetzner (in Germany) which appears to strengthen the possibility that commission to the creators of getsocio is involved, and that they are hosting the sites for a customer(s), i.e the operators of the NHS related deals sites you've been affected by.
It may be worth contacting getsocio directly using their contact page, purely with the objective of having these particular customers of theirs shut down. Based on the information on the getsocio website they claim to care about fraudulent activity and do not want to have this harming their reputation. I would not suggest providing ANY personal information about your specific order experiences, simply provide them with the web links to the NHS deal related websites and perhaps say you believe from your experiences that these particular customers may be operating fraudulently and are concerned that getsocio may be profiting.
Overall I hope this information may be helpful for those who have curiosity as to how these sites are being created and operated and some comments on a possible route to perhaps getting them disabled - by informing getsocio about the websites you've been affected by, and the additional possibility of following this up with reporting the websites in question to Hetzner, the hosting provider.
All the best for those affected, and apologies - as a new poster I can't provide full URL links in my post. FWIW my friend affected by this is following the chargeback route, I hope she and others get their money back.0 -
Hi All,
i also posted a few days ago. I have thankfully received a full refund, i paid for 2 ipads on my debit account. The money went out and came back under the name zappideals. My friend has also reveived his refund on credit card.
I think the best advice to follow would be
1) Cancel your card, not account, just incase they really are naughty and use your number without consent
2) Ask for a refund via the contact page on the website - if you ask within 7 days of order their T&Cs should cover you (that is what we did). see my email below. If you are asking after 7 days you will probably have to wait until you do not receive your goods and go through the visa/mastercard chargeback procedure which asks you to wait 15 days. Conatct details for the website and owner are all on previous threads
3) Speak to actionfraud - these people should be stopped
4) Fill in the watchdog questionnaire on their website - we should try to expose them.
My letter:
I am writing to request a refund for three transactions made on Friday 16/11/12. Refs: xxxxx
I am requesting these refunds (including the P&P) under the distance selling regulations (get link from this website)
I feel I have been missold the merchandise as the page displayed when buying them stated that you must read the "fine print". The "fine print" is published on the same page. However, it does not mention that the terms and conditions are different and also need to be read.
"The Fine Print
Multiples can be purchased – Up to 5
Postage is not included in the deal price and is an additional £9.99 per item upon purchasing this deal
Your products will be sent direct from the supplier once the deal closes.
Please allow 10 days for delivery from the end date of the deal
By purchasing a deal, you are purchasing the products described above"
If I had known that I would be buying a voucher as oppose to the product I would not have continued with the purchases.
I am extremely disappointed as I have used this site before and was unaware that it had been taken over/changed hands.
Please note; I DO NOT wish to have a credit to the website, I want the money returned back into the bank account/credit card used under your T&C 6.3.4 / 6.3.5.
I expect to hear from you within 72 hours as stated in your return emails from your information centre.

Good luck everyone x

You have the incorrect email address, you need to add 'nhs' after '@' to get the full address.0 -
So after many phone calls to the bank and being told I need to wait 10 days, then 15 days, cancel your card, don't cancel your card etc etc, after being told by the company that i'll have my refund "any time now".....I think it might be coming to an end.
I went into a small branch of Lloyds yesterday in Edinburgh as i'm away from home and explained to the cashier that there might be a refund on my account floating about as I cancelled my card. She didn't seem to fully understand so went to see the bank manager. He called me into his office, i explained everything that has happened and he called the disputes line himself. He was on hold for 20 minutes, we had a nice chat to pass the time, he finally gets through and the conversation basically went like this.
"I have a customer who bought 3x iPad from Zappideals for a total of £782.97 and he has not received them. It has been 17 days now"
A few security questions were asked and the next thing I know he's saying "thanks, bye"
He then turns to me and says "You'll have your money back within 14 days. Either from the company or the bank"
It all seems so simple. It must have been a really quiet branch. I cant imagine many branch managers helping a single customer with a problem that could be resolved by me just ringing the dispute line.
I think some banks need to re-train every member of staff using the same training booklet. It seems they are giving everyone different information. I can't believe how much inconsistency there is with information in huge companies and even the government these days, they seem to just say what they want.
I shall post again once I have the money.0 -
i totally agree teamgame!!!! When my 'floating' refund (due to cancelled card) was identified it was back in my account by close of business that day so hopefully your hard earned cash will be back with you soon :-)0

I'm glad that so many of you have received a refund I for one am still waiting, despite sending texts to David Phillip and him replying that the refund was actioned last week. I have also sent numerous emails to the new website and not one of my emails have been answered. I have therefore completed the charge back form from HSBC so will await the outcome. The whole fiasco has caused nothing but stress so DHSD if you reading this please refund my £260.99 (order no: 162827)0

Finally, the money is back in my account! Like I said in my previous post, I went into my local branch, they called the dispute line, they said I would have the money within 14 days, BOOM, 2 days later and its in my account. Because of this, I would advise everyone to stop contacting NHS discounts and just wait the 15 days then open a dispute, if mine was sorted within 2 days, I cant see why other disputes wont be.
I hope everyone gets their money back which is looking more and more likely as the days go on. I'm still going to keep checking on here to see how things develop.0 -
HI all,
I received two yes two emails from their new website "Daily Health Service" the first said " we sincerely apologise for the delay in responding to your enquiry. A refund has been processed please allow 3-5 working days for the transfer to show within your account via method paid. These terms are standard with our merchant bank"
The second email said "Your order has been refunded the funds will appear in your accoint within 3-5 business days. The coupon has been destroyed"
When I logged onto their website the coupon is no longer visible. I will update you all if and when the money shows up in my account. My work colleague who purchased 3ipads also received a similar email so lets just wait and see. I would love to hear from any of the 30% who received an ipad0 -
I'm wanting to reclaim the money I've paid for non-receipt of a Kindle Fire from this company, but HSBC want us to complete a form and provide evidence that the company have gone bust, etc. Has anyone else been asked to do this?0
