What the hell is patronizing about giving someone praise for getting off their a**e and working ????
The poster doesn't HAVE to explain where her child is looked after to you or anyone on here....
She has found a work/child compromise which obviously suits her and her child......what would you rather she sat at home watching JK claiming every benefit going

But it's ok for you and others to judge people who choose (because the gov lets them) to stay with their children instead of leaving them to work?
And expect them to justify every move they make or want to make?

    Double standards or what! :rotfl:

Personally, I don't understand how any parent can trust 'childcare' in the form of non-family members. Some horrific things happen to children in the hands of 'carers'.

Nope, I don't 'abondon' my children, my eldest children are at school when I work my partners mum has my daughter whilst I work on a part time basis.
When my twin boys were one and a half they went into a full time private nursery and I stand fully behind my choices!!

I have more Aspiration in life than to just sit watching daytime television until my child is 5 then at the first inkling of my free ride ending I enquire into having another child just so I can continue doing nothing in life. Nothing for myself, nothing for my child, nothing for our futures!!

Now if that's the lazy attitude we all should have then where exactly would we all get our money from??

Oh right, so you're saying that every stay at home mother just sits watching daytime telly in preference to actively parenting and being involved with their child(ren)?

The same can happen with family members so moot point really about childcare.

But then those wanting or feeling the need to support their own family by working is obviously wrong in your eyes and we should all stay at home and bum off the state.

    Thanks for clarifying,

I am currently having support by a sure start center, the worker is trying to help with my DLA claim so that it will help pay towards nursery for my 9 month old, this might be in your area but certainly isn't in mine..
I won't get any help with free childcare until baby is 2..

I don't understand why the cost of b/club is so high, they must be charging for the childcare too..
I think this is really wrong, and should be the same everywhere..

It does depend on the area - Where I work there is a high area of depravation, so there is more funding etc.

The B/Fast club is ran as childcare by the "outside provider" who need to make a profit. The school don't and won't subsidise it as they don't get money for this due to the area it is in.

But - bit in red - that's ALL about MONEY. Is that all you think parenting involves? It sounds like it! A child is surely more likely to remember and appreciate and benefit from affection and who it was from, rather than get the same warm feelings and benefit from who provided the money!

I certainly appreciate the work ethic that my parents taught me, and I believe my children appreciate that we work hard for them, and will do the same when they grow up. It's not about money, it's about working hard for your family.

At age five the child will be in school for several hours of the day. Mum has between 9.00(ish) and 3.00(ish) five days a week to occupy herself without being responsible for the care of that child. If she's on benefits she can hardly spend that time doing the shops, so I'd think daytime TV becomes a big part of her daily routine.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

some horrific things happen to children in the hands of oarents, grandparents, siblings, uncles, aunts etc. etc. etc.

at least a childminder or support worker comes with a CRB check, references and Ofstead to check out any complaints.

I think that can be installed into the children in other ways, I'm on benefits claiming ESA among other things, my children have a work ethic, they want to be teachers/nurses/ etc..

Their auntie is a great influence she has just gained her BA hons in social sciences and my daughters will watch her graduate..

I'm the only one in my family that doesn't work and I think each family has it's own merits, my daughters see how I save money, save up for the things I want, yes the state support us but I'm also raising four tax payers, people never seem to remember that when slating claimants.

All the benefit haters should direct their anger at prisioners, and law breakers in general, they cost the state much more money..
I always take the moral high ground, it's lovely up here...
