Huawei G300 £65 from Tesco

  • Does this mean you can now get this phone for £50 with £30 of groceries or am I missing summat?

    No :)
The offer only works on selected handsets (Those in the multisaver 'bucket' to be technical), which have the offer mentioned on the SEL.

We haven't got any of the aforementioned £15 off any phone over £50 posters, so I suspect this is only a superstore offer. Would need to see the poster in any case, but I'm reasonably certain it'll use the phrase selected, and any phone that works with this would have it mentioned in the brochure/ on the SEL.

I'm glad you added that otherwise I'd have been wandering round Tesco Extra this evening looking for a bucket :)
Please can you confirm that the '£15 off' (without having to spend £30) applies to the Tesco Mobile version of the G300 and not the Vodafone offering.

Waiting doesn't work where technology is concerned, you will be in a viscous circle otherwise.
The smartphone market sure is fast moving. By the time this G330 is launched, Judy may well be hankering after the massive 5.3" Galaxy Note 1, which may have dropped considerably due to the imminent appearance of the Note 2. (From memory, can be had for around £375 on PAYG ATM.)
  • One annoying this about this phone is the fingerprints getting on the screen. Will have to see if I can buy a screen cover.

The Tesco Mobile branded one is definitely at this price, no offer involved. As far as I'm aware, the Vodafone and any other branded variants require the offer.
I obviously can't guarantee this will be the case at every store, but it should definitely be valid in Metros, so long as they have stock. Superstores may or may not have the same offer available, they run on a different set of multisaver 'buckets'- Often these overlap, but not necessarily.

All I can really say is to check the box. If it's not a Tesco Mobile branded box in the light blue colorscheme with the little 'I'm locked to Tesco Mobile' warning on the front, the price may well be different :)

  • HELP!!!

My phone is now unlocked :)

However because this is my first android phone, I am getting lost in all the jargon.

Want to remove the bloatware & update ICS (and whatever else I need to do), but I don't understand how to do this. I have looked at the relevant topics on ModaCo forum & I'm still none the wiser.

Really need a complete idiots guide as opposed to a guide with tons of jargon.

If someone can help me, it would be very much appreciated.

Kill 3 birds with one stone and get this:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/S-Line-Wave-Gel-Case-for-Huawei-Ascend-G300-w-Screen-Protector-Mini-Stylus-/261074274900?pt=UK_MobilePhones_MobilePhonesCasesPouches&var=&hash=item3cc93d4a54

For the price a surprisingly good quality case, screen protector and what my wife calls a 'dabber' :D:D (mini stylus). But the screen protector definitely affected screen sensitivity.

Want to remove the bloatware & update ICS.

When you install ICS (assuming you use the official huawei version - 4.0.3 b926) you will get rid of all the voda software.

latest sign in my Tesco says no minimum spend to get the £15 off, think the offer is valid until 16/9.
Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama ;)

I saw the same sign in Alfreton store, no minimum spend required.
