Mines on Talkmobile too - no problem
Just make sure you delete all Vodafone APN settings before/after adding Talkmobile APN settingsWhen will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0 -
Can I asume youve tried taking the battery out for a few seconds?
Yes I have taken the battery out while the phone was switched on to try and reset it, but it didn't make any difference.
I have an Ovivo sim on the Vodafone network.
I have been leaving the phone in the kitchen overnight as the intermittent bleeping annoys the OH (I sleep through it).0 -

Mobile phones periodically communicate with the network via the nearest mast it can connect to.
Mobile phones can transmit at variable power levels depending on reception conditions from about 0.02W to 2W. at the higher power levels many devices with an audio amplifier such as a clock radio or computer speakers will pickup the signal if the phone is in close proximity as the power level is quite high.
If it didn't do it before but does now in the same location it suggests the network has changed in some way. Previously reception may have been so good the phone only needed to poll the mast with a low power transmission, not enough to interfere.
Now it is having to use its full power to reach a mast so maybe your nearest mast (for your network) is down or taken out of service so your phone is reaching out to a more distant one.
This could explain higher battery drain as the phone is polling (in brief bursts) at 100 times higher power use. When a signal is weaker the phone checks in more often to see if a better signal is around and to see if it can still connect to the network.
It may improve if the nearer mast comes back or you find a location in the house where signal is stronger overnight. Or leave it on charge overnight? not normally a good idea but the G300 has a pretty smart charger and goes to standby when the battery has had enough.0 -
That sounds exactly what it is doing as there is sometimes interference through the computer speakers if it is sitting near them.
Unfortunately the Vodafone site is useless as it doesn't list outages or masts that are down.0 -

I have an app that can show what masts are around and locate them on a Google map but its a bit geeky to use, interesting sometimes. Needs Wifi or mobile data on to get Google maps, otherwise just gets id data from the masts.

If it was me i would consider writing down all the apps i need and deleting back to factory and reistalling just those appsWhen will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0 -
MrsB has had her phone for ages now, so I downloaded the Huawei Hi Suite thingy to back up everything.
I took some photos that I wanted to put on my PC, but I'm struggling ...
If I plug the phone in, I can't see them in Windoze Explorer, so I did a back-up to HiSuite - it saves a zip file in 'my documents' called backup_HUAWEI U8815_2013-04-26-15-34-08.zip
but despite my best efforts, it won't unzip
The older files (backup_HUAWEI U8815_2013-06-12-18-28-02 and before) open fine, but obviously (?) the latest program 'upgrade' has rendered it useless
Is there a generic android back up program or ............0 -
I don't bother with Huaweis suite, just make sure you save to a memory card then when you connect to your computer use usb mass storage and then copy n paste the files across0
-
The pictures are on the phone *not* the sd card ....
Next option???
When I plug my G300 into my PC with the USB cable and press the activate usb storage on the phone, I get 2 drives appear in Windows Explorer.
1 is the SD card, the other is the internal SD card (the phone memory)
Just look in DCIM\Camera in this one and the pictures will be there, copy/cut/paste off to your PC as any file.
It can take a while to index both drives on the PC so be patient if they don't both appear for a while.
Also go into settings.. developer options make sure 'USB debugging' is unticked as this only makes the internal drive visible in developer (programming) mode.0
