I have heard of this 'bubble' problem before - so about 3 months ago I was just getting in the car for a trip out with my wife and got my G300 out to use as sat nav when i seen "the bubble"
Eeeeeeeeekkk!
I figured that was the end of it - never heard of it going away
The bubble was right in the middle of the screen - got to the garden centre i put it in my pocket as normal - thinking what i should buy for my next mobile - took my G300 out to check some prices on the interweb and i was gobsmacked - the bubbled had gone! - completely without trace and as fast as it arrived
To this day it hasnt occured since and i still dont know what it was
Condensation? dunno - but it went
Well I have tried the massage thing,it helped a little but I can still see them, I think I will send it to Huawei and hope they sort it, if not then I will live with it and in a few months may buy the 5100 -
Phone came back yesterday, same phone, just working now! It's flashed with a Voda rom, the logo shows vodafone now, but it was flashed with ICS. All working, and one very happy dad!
Tempted to root it to install titanium backup on it though, seeing as he's lost all his stuff, though thankfully he hadn't realised google steals his contacts, and therefore he didn't lose those!
That is impressive service :T. Is it still rooted? which version did they put on it?0 -
When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0

I've had one of these phones for about 8 months and it is very slow - I only really use it for facebook, email and a couple of other apps but there are all sorts of apps that load themselves up and take up all the RAM - I use app killer to close them and then it opens them up again and back to square one. I think I've got ICS and I've read on other forums that if I use the official downgrade software to go back to Gingerbread it will be a lot better. But I've tried to do this many times and it just fails.
Trouble is that I am a complete Luddite Technophobe and I don't understand any of the instructions or forum discussion - I'm not really sure how I got ICS or what this really means - could it have happened automatically?
Can anyone point me in the right direction - I just want my phone to run at a sensible speed and not force close all the time - it can take several minutes for the facebook app to open up and upload or sometimes it doesn't work at all - surely it should be better than this? The ringtone is also very very quiet so that it is inaudible in anywhere but a very quiet area.
I don't mind paying a repair service to make all these changes for me - does such a thing exist and how would I find one in the Leeds/West Yorkshire area.
Otherwise I am thinking of getting another phone - I am currently on a SIM only contract with T-Mobile that runs out early next year. I just want a similar phone, but one that runs reasonably well, at a similar cost. I did have a HTC Desire but that had so little available memory that I could only have about two apps - insufficient for even my basic needs. Now I have one that has enough space for apps but is so slow. I am expecting too much? Do I need a more expensive phone for it to work better?0 -

As you are on tmobile they have the higher spec Huawei Ascend P1 Lte that is on a Very low price point on their contract. You could see what they
could offer that at.0 -

I wouldn't worry too much about the apps loading, it is trying to remember what apps you use more or recently and pre-load them in case they are needed, if the phone needs the memory they can be dropped instantly. I think your speed problem is other issues but there are various reasons possible.
For ring tone volume, there are different volumes for different sounds, 1st go to settings - volumes and make sure ringtones is up full. Then try this experiment - settings - phone ringtone - select ringtone and then choose Huawei Tune as your ring. Then call the mobile, on my G300 its really loud! (and quite a good tune) it was made by the manufacturer so its volume level suits the phone.
I tried the Facebook app but to be honest its very badly made, that applies on any Android phone - have you tried accessing it on a browser page like on your computer? Opera is very good (free from Play store) and you can make a quick icon shortcut on the homescreen to open Facebook page in the browser, just as quick as the Facebook app.
Going back to speed and forced close apps, I NEVER get that and have a LOT of apps, some hacked. Are you using an SD card? is it a brand one from a good source? the reason for asking is some of the 'fake' cards around could cause this, or a slow or corrupted card.0 -

Luci found this link for reinstalling gingerbread if you wantWhen will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0 -
Jethro - that's the link I have been using, but it just fails during the first 'middle package' bit - I've tried several times.
Silly Goose - thanks for the facebook tip - I am using Opera anyway so will give that a go. I have checked the settings for the ringtone and it is on maximum but its not loud enough to be heard when there's people/traffic etc around. I do have an SD card - its not fake as its one that came with an old digital camera, but it will be several years old - perhaps I should make sure I'm not using it if poss - I only put it in the phone so that it didn't get lost lol.
Rols - thanks for the tip on the Huawei Ascend P1 Lte - I think I was a bit put off Huaweis and I was thinking that maybe I do need to pay a little more and stop going for the cheap option but I'll see what is around at the end of the year when my contract is up for renewal. I am also looking at a Samsung Galaxy or a Sony Xperia but was put off by the sheer number of Galaxy Options. DP has a Sony Xperia Z which seems quite nice so I might go for a smaller one of those.0 -
You could also consider installing "Facebook Light" which is suppose to be much quicker than the regular app
I agree with using Opera Mobile browser (not Opera Mini)
You can save browser shortcuts straight to the desktop (one click open) although I have forgotten how)
