Proof positive that the G330 is coming to the end of its exclusive talktalk mobile period?

PS Mine is driving me nuts at the moment (still on ics as couldn't manage to get it back to the previous OS). Anyway, when I make a call the screen goes completely blank whilst the call is in progress (nothing can be pressed to get a response or fire the screen back into life). The screen only then returns when the call is ended. This also happens if i get to someone's voicemail, even if i don't leave a message I have to wait until the call is over (i.e. when the voicemail has run its course) before the screen comes back. Annoying as hell. I have screen time out set to 10 mins so nothing to do with that. Any ideas? TIA!

Sounds like the proximity sensor is permanently triggered, its supposed to blank and lock during a call when it senses your ear, stops you ear-pressing or backlight tanning your lobe.

Its mounted behind the upper part of the screen I believe. Try giving the screen a really good clean and removing any cases for now.

Also try a proper power off reboot (without faststart on). On mine during a call even putting my hand within about an inch away of the screen blanks it but it comes back as I move away, perhaps yours has a fault and thinks your ear is still there all the time, it would only return when the phone app terminates.

correction, the sensor is a small purple dot to the right of the speaker, you can see it with a bright torch.

You can use this app to test it, works on my G300, no trigger shows 9cm, get close enough goes to 0cm

Could anyone help me please ?
I've downloaded the Yahoo mail app and logged in.
I can get email notifications fine.

How do I log out of Yahoo mail ?
I've looked and can't see anything.

I'd rather not have the notifications start pinging in the middle of the night or the light flashing.

I don't think you can as far as I know

The only way would be to force the app to stop and then remember to open it again in the morning ????

Thats handy ...so when you open the app does it still show you as logged out or does it try to log you back in when it syncs

You can of course switch it to silent overnight. Or (shock horror) even switch the phone off?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
