We're getting married on New Year's Eve 2015 - we chose our date at Christmas, with 2 years to go, and I can't believe how fast time is ticking by.

I've booked the church, reception, car, make up artist, suits for groom/groomsmen and photographer. I've also ordered my dress, which is due in January, and I've booked a trip to London in January to sort my bridesmaids dresses with my girls. I'm just waiting for a quote for my cake and then I can get that sorted too.

I've been super organised but the thing with New Year's Eve is once people and services are booked, they're booked so it pays to think ahead.

We've everything booked now so it's just a matter of actually picking everything!!

Getting a cake was the last thing, I thought it would be a waste of money but my siblings are getting it for us so I can't complain!

June 2015 and everything bar the DJ and rings is sorted.

Not too shabby if you ask me.

HEllo all. IS anyone else doing a memory table at their wedding. My Grandma passed away 8 years ago and I want her to be there in some way. There's other members of my family who if they were still living would be there.

How are you commemorating this if you are?

We're not so much having a memory table but we're going to have copies of wedding photos of the grandparents and great grandparents above the fireplace in the room where we're having the wedding breakfast. Also my nan won't be able to come as she's in a care home with quite advanced dementia so our favours are going to be from the Alzheimer's society as a way of acknowledging the reason why she won't be with us. Oh and I'll be wearing my other grandmother's pearls as my something old. My dad was rather touched when I told him at the weekend.

Just an update as to where were at :) we've now paid off dj photographer cake topper, half of venue, gifts for everyone, flowers and my dress. I ordered the mens cravats and hankies which came today and are exactly the colours I wanted to match my other stuff(who knew cadbury purple came in different shades?) all of our accessories for me and the two bms are in the post and invites have started to slowly go out :) by this time next month we will have given notice and paid off sweet table and evening photographer plus the boys accessories :) only thing left for me to make, now is the table plan and place cards and put all the gift boxes together. So pleased with how organised we are and another 3 months payments and were all done :) getting ridiculously excited :) xxx

Now paid the deposit on the venue and booked the band. Rings are all sorted and honeymoon is decided on.

I am a little concerned that I am not stressed!

We only gave ourselves 6 months from engagement until wedding date, and everyone keeps asking how the plans are going as we must be stressed with so little time.

I am not at all stressed! We have a lot done already and I really can't see what all the fuss is about. Is this normal??

We are heading on our first proper mini holiday in September to Dubai so we are planning on buying our wedding rings there! We live beside the UAE so it's literally one flight away! Very excited by it!

Trixie, I'd say you are super duper excited! I'm planning on delegating some duties as we are abroad but all the legal paperwork is done so it's all go!!

Need to order another cake topper, ours arrived from amazon but it's not nice at all! I have a €5 voucher from amazon so I might look on there.. If anyone knows someone who does bespoke ones that are cheap, please pass it on!!

Tatabubbly try Etsy for a personalised cake topper, they have loads on there.
  • Tatabubbly depends on what price your willing to pay we are having ours made to look like superman and a bride and will look like us which is costing 80 for the topper and then 25 for a case so,we can display it,after but for me it's money well spent :) hen party plans are underway and I m not involved in that at all so it's a bit worrying lol everything else seems to be coming together now tho and will be paid off by end of October so,will, give us a few months to get our savings back together and honeymoon sorted :) just want to get it all out the way and be the day already now but only 24 weeks to go :) xxx
