That's great news! Thanks for letting me know. I quite like Phase Eight's "Bette" - but it's over budget and I'm not sure how much one of the bridesmaids likes it (the other one adores it, but she has that infuriating habit of looking amazing in pretty much everything!)
Nice to know somebody else is having dark green - whenever I go to bridal shops and wedding fayres I keep getting "Oh, that's very unusual." (and their tone doesn't suggest in a good way!) Sticking firm with the colour scheme though - I think it's gorgeous and I hate pastels!0 -
It's nice to unusual we are having cadbury purple and everyone else who got married where we work has had that lol but it's my favourite colour so sticking to it

Argh I need to rant and have nowhere else to so here goes.....
I have spent the evening with my father who has dropped a few things on me tonight and I am stressed out! He has a new casual partner who he has been seeing once a week for the last 6 months for meals etc. so he asks about the guest list for wedding and asks if she will be invited. Very politely I have said we would be happy to extend an evening invite to her but not a full day invite as we are already at the top of the 65 ppl we have room for and she would not know anyone there but him. This is not good enough. I can understand that he does not want to attend a wedding by himself however as father of the bride he would be separated from her for most of the day anyway. I have never met this woman nor do I have anything against his relationship I am just trying to be diplomatic but struggling.i really do not no how to approach this with him now as I have already said the day is for family and close friends only. Mil also wants to bring a date altho she is not in a relationship and again we have said the same to her. We do not want random ppl sharing our day with us who will disappear off the face of the earth after but be in the photos forevermore etc my dad has also said he would like me to invite and aunt and uncle that have had nothing to do with me for years for the sake of family politics and again I have said the same thing to him about space, he has said he will pay for,the extra ppl but that isn't the issue. I know I sound like a !!!!! but we really only want ppl who we are close to there so any ideas anyone on how to approach this with him again? I don't want to argue with him but I can see us both losing our temper xxxDebt free finally :j

If he's prepared to pay then graciously accept. It's not like you'll have to talk to them. Brides never get around to talking to everyone at their weddings anyway.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
It's not,the cost that's the issue it's the space limits and we'd rather have someone we know and love there instead of some random bit xxxDebt free finally :j

We are getting married in August 2015 & have only booked the venue! We will be booking the registrar soon, what else needs to be done this far in advance?
I'm doing a really intense CPD course from September to June, so ideally all the high-priority items will be organised by the time I start.0 -
I'm getting married next june and we've booked venues for ceremony and reception and booked registrar. Was kind of assuming the rest of it is fairly relaxed now and as long as we get invites out soon after xmas, the rest will not exactly sort itself out but will all be ok.
Not intending on buying a traditional wedding dress though and frankly as long as we and people we want there turn up and say the legal bits, anything else is a bonus. Am I in a minority thinking this way?0 -
Mini rant here... why oh why is my mother so obsessed with gyspophilia (even the NAME of it sounds like a weird perversion) I want really simple bouquets for the bridesmaids (my colours are yellow and ivory roses with dark green dresses - inspired by the flowers my OH got me when we got engaged) I was planning some really simple bouquests, just a nice posy of roses with a bit of greenery on the outside... thinking along the same likes for me but on a slightly larger scale perhaps with a bit more greenery intertwined with it all. I have now had no less that THREE arguments with my mother about sodding gypsophelia, why I don't want it, what's wrong with it, why I don't think it will go etc. She's CONVINCED I have to have some in there somewhere and to me it's just going to look fussy and silly and I don't like the damned stuff anyway!!
Sorry for the rant but I can't believe we're three arguments in and she still doesn't get it! I also have to tread the line on being nice to her about it all as she lives the other end of the country to me and has somehow convinced herself that I'm going to organise teh entire wedding without involving her (despite teh fact that she came with me to sort my dress, she's been to the venue and met our co-ordinator and I've asked for her help with menu choices and seating plans)
ARGGHHHHHH!
Rant overEveryone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0 -
