Anyway, sorry for butting in, haven't posted on here in ages! Not done much recently, September 2015 is our month so just chilling atm! Got the venue, photographer and DJ sorted. Just watching people "overtake" us... Engaged after but married before us... Maybe I should pop over to the Bridezilla thread!
Those are gorgeous shoes! One of the first things I did after getting engaged was buy my wedding shoes- but sadly they are too high for me so I'll have to sell them. I'm thinking I might go for a pair of ankle boots instead provided I can find a pretty pair. I have narrow feet and I'm useless in heels, so it would certainly be a more practical choice for me. Still kind of want those burgundy Irregular Choice shoes though
I made my first substantial wedding purchase yesterday- some furry stoles for my bridesmaids and I. Wasn't intended, but I saw some that were perfect and decided I'd regret it if I passed it up. Just got to hope they arrive okay now and I don't get hit with custom fees, as they're coming from abroad.
Still no venue sorted. We viewed another one at the weekend- one I thought was very promising- but my partner didn't like it. Wasn't surprised to be honest- he has a long list of must-haves that simply isn't feasible, especially with our small budget. On the plus side he is aware of that now and has agreed to be less picky. We're going to view another venue at the end of this month and hopefully we will both like it and book it!0 -

They're GORGEOUS! I know what you mean about overtaking. I was slightly miffed when a girl at work got engaged two weeks after us and she's getting married in December this year! How very bridezilla of me!
We'r june next year so it will be pretty much exactly a year away next weekend. Exciting times!Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0 -

Goood luck with the venue sorting! Make sure you come back and let us know how you get on!Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0 -
We've booked our venue, got our DJ, sortedo ut someone to do my bouquet and last week posted our save the dates.
We also have my wedding dress0 -
So since I last updated on here I've managed to book:
- Registrar so now have a tim of 1pm to sort my running order for the day.
- DJ (had a meeting with him this weekend and OH is happy so will pay the deposit this week when they send the contract through)
- Have a meeting with potential photographer on Tuesday
- Menu tasting is booked in for next week.
- Planning to start building my designed invite this week so that I can tweak it before making the rest.
- Going to start looking for shoes soon
- Need to order last bridesmaids dress and look for red underskirts.
Going to re-do my spreadsheets this evening and see if there is anything I'm missing.
Had a strange thought the other day that weddings are a bit like a film or play in which you star, produce and direct as well as finance and write lol. (obviously it's more of a documentary than a fictional performance) :rotfl:
No wonder we go a bit crazy from the planning heheEngaged 25/12/2013 :T
Marrying my gorgeous fiance 30/05/15Saving for the Wedding and Honeymoon :j0 -
hey everyone !!
August 15th 2015 wedding being planned by me and my wife to be
feeling very organised at the moment
am actually quite enjoying it as well lol
Chapel sorted
Venue sorted - Marquee in mother in laws caravan field.
Bar for inside the marquee sorted
Caterers sorted
Best man/ bridesmaids decided on
my best mans wife has just set up a side line business of making wedding invitations, she designed her own for when she got married last year which were lovely. so have had an initial ideas meeting with her 2 weeks ago so shes gunna go away and draw some designs up for us.
I want to try and sort out a wedding band next, but have been shocked at the price of some quotes ive been given for some bands.. ranging from the £700 - £900 area. but having spoken in here on another thread it seems like that is cheap. not too sure if we will be able to afford it if that's the going rate. will have to do some hardcore saving I think to be able to afford a band.
but wife to be is busy with mother in law to be in buying lots of fancy things to fill up the marquee to make it look pretty as they have the hessian look which we are going for with lots of bunting inside the marquee.
favours are sorted as well - we are providing the men and women with Alzheimer's badges as a close Auntie on the Brides side is in a home with Alzheimer's so we will be making a donation to the Alzheimers charity and provide guests with a cute lil badge.0 -
I have booked my wedding next year in December, as my theme is Christmas. I have started my marriage preparation, and printed my christian wedding cards. Also I have booked marriage venue.0

Hi everyone!
I'm another 2015 bride - 06/06/2015! Slowly getting things sorted out but I fear we're probably a bit behind most people!
Complete (other than final payment)
- Venue is completely booked - ceremony and reception both at same location and deposit paid.
- Bridesmaids and best man chosen.
- Colour scheme chosen (Dark green and ivory)
- Registered both at local registry office and the one for our venue's location.
- Cake deposit paid.
Halfway:
- Tried on a lot of dresses. A couple looked beautiful. Not convinced I've found the "one."
- Shoes: Irregular Choice, Abigail's Party - no final decision on colour. Probably whatever I find on ebay! Ivory or the new pale blue ones for preference.
- Bridesmaid dresses: dark green isn't in vogue at the moment, and I'm reluctant to try ordering from China. One has been found that is the perfect colour (Phase Eight: Bette) - typically suits one bridesmaid but isn't as flattering on the other. Also one in Monsoon that may end up considering.
- Favours decided on (slate coasters with each person's name written on them) but not bought as yet.
- Photographer decided on, but not booked as I entered a competition to win my photography for free (with the photographer!) so waiting for the results of that (perhaps stupidly.)
- Caterers come with the venue, but waiting for somebody to come back from holiday before I can contact them.
- Hair appointment tomorrow with potential hairdresser.
- Groom knows the suit style he would like, has picked it out of various magazines. Getting him to try it on however...

I'm having dark green too! Going to start looking more Sept/Oct time as it's a more wintery colour. Plus a couple of internet searches suggest dark green could be one of this seasons colours!Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0 -

Technically we don't have a colour scheme (find it too restricting) so we're going for a neutral palette with some green as it's both mine and H2B's favourite colour.
We're going to see another venue this weekend. If we like it, we'll be getting that booked and the registry office asap. After that I hope to secure the catering and the cake, so that'll be all the important stuff done I think (we're not having photos so we're not including a photographer in that).
Still not sure whenwe should be getting our outfits. Getting married in October so I'm thinking we should be ordering them around March/April next year. I already know what dress I want though so I don't have to factor in browsing time. OH knows he wants a tweed suit, but he won't look into it until much nearer the time.
I've been buying a few small things as I see them out of my own money, in the hopes it will make out budget stretch further. So far I've ordered some stoles for my bridesmaids and I, and I was going to get some cufflinks for the best men but they want £30 in postage!! Really hoping that's a mistake!0
