Hi Everyone I'm another 2015 bride to be from Buckinghamshire. Having a fairly big wedding with 100 day guests and another 40-50 for the evening do. OH has a quite big family and I have had to tell him not to make any more friends in the next year haha
So far have sorted:
- Colour scheme - Purple and Red
- Venue
- 1st night accomodation
- Band (bargain price thanks to OH's bro in law)
- My Dress
- Cake (Mum is making and has found topper)
Still to do:
- Photographer
- Registrar (can book tomorrow)
- Wedding Rings
- Honeymoon
- Gift List ?
- Bouncy castle (OH loves themand have checked venue has outdoor power point)
- Flowers
- Invitations (have come up with the design and where to order card etc)
- Other table decorations
- Favours
- Hair and Make Up (will prob use my current hair dresser and have checked prices etc)
- Suits etc
- Presents
Currently working on:
- DJ
(I found one but OH isn't sure if we need DJ as well as band at mo, though band is only 2 x 45 min sets)
- Bridesmaids Dresses
(Have found one's I like but one of the BM's pulled a face when she put it on so now may be back at drawing board. Let me know what you think of them http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_028020350253_-1 )
- Menu
(luckily the venue is letting us do a tasting and giving our guests 2 choices think we narrowed the main down to Lamb or Duck (plus veggie, vegan, gluten free options)
Have saved money on:
- No cars (all in one place and will stay over night before).
- No save the dates (just doing word of mouth and might do a facebook event page) Stamps will cost a small fortune otherwise!
- Not having chair covers as the chairs look nice and suit the venue.
I must say it felt so suddenly real when I found my dress and put it on the second time and made the decision, and think that booking the registrar tomorrow will make me grin like a cheshire cat that it's only 1 year away.
Sooo much to do still eeekk!!!
Any opinions or things I'm missing feel free to comment
Good luck with all your planning ladies and gents.Engaged 25/12/2013 :T

Wow, I haven't posted on this thread since New Year!
The dress I posted might be 'the one' on 2nd December was the one so I ordered it!I went back to pay a bit of it off and it's coming in in September, I can't wait to get the phone call saying it's in
I also have the following sorted:
- Headdress
- Veil
- Colour scheme
- Church
- Reception venue
- Photographer
- My ring
- Cake (an old work colleague is making it)
- Favours (we know what we're having, but need to wait closer to the date to order them as they're sweets and I want them to have a good expiry date on them)
Currently working on:
- Cars
- Flowers
- Hair & makeup
Still to do:
- Suits for the men
- Bridesmaids dresses
- Jewellery
- Invitations
- DecorationsSPC '21 #0750 -
Sorted cake today
£250 for 3 tier made up to look like superman shirt with symbol and hotel pays £50 of that so only £100 over original budget, will have to try and trim from other areas to work it in
going to sort suits out at end of month
and have ordered 10kg sweets plus extras for, sweet trees to arrive in September for under £100 loads cheaper than sweet cart quote! Still got more jars to buy but will come in at a lot less than original quote
our rings are in jewellers so,just need to finish paying them off now as that's the one thing I didn't want to cut costs on and came in cheaper than what we originally thought xxx

Wow everybody is getting so organised!
I've had a bit of rant on the bridezilla thread on here regarding our guest list, which should have been an easy job to sort!
I'm feeling a bit deflated today and think i will step away from wedding planning for a month or two as I can now see it far enough!0 -
Crazy excited as my wedding shoes have just been delivered! I know we're a year away but I fell in love with them and then got a discount code via their mailing list so it seemed crazy not too!
What I didn't realise when ordering them is that they have tiny yellow roses set at the very top of the heel inside the perspex - my wedding flowers are yellow roses! SQUEEEEE!Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0 -
Oooohh redfragglebiker they are beautiful shoes!!
Are they from irregular choice? My sister keeps saying I should get my wedding shoes from there but looking for some purple one's heheEngaged 25/12/2013 :T

They are indeed - They are called Mrs Lower and were more than I intended to pay for wedding shoes but I fell in love with them. Plus I got an unexpected bonus from work and after paying a few things off I had enough to buy them so decided to splurge. I will get lots of wear out of them after my wedding day too!Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0 -
My wedding shoes are irregular choice! I got them in a sale over 2 years before our wedding date, it was the first wedding "thing" I did! They're burgundy with flowers on, I'll try and find a picture...
Anyway, sorry for butting in, haven't posted on here in ages! Not done much recently, September 2015 is our month so just chilling atm! Got the venue, photographer and DJ sorted. Just watching people "overtake" us... Engaged after but married before us... Maybe I should pop over to the Bridezilla thread!0
