  • I haven't done a tap since the invites! LOL I only have one made up but I'm going to run the figures to be sure that its cheaper to home DIY them all. May actually chat to OH and see if they have a good jet printer at work that he could use, would save on the bill, LOL!

Think this week I am going to try and master Microsoft publisher and do our inserts on that and our order of service. Think we are going to keep it tres simple and just have the readings in it.

Hi itsmethatswho :D Ooh, that sounds good :)

I still need to sort out insurance. I've booked the church, but nothing else yet. We still need to visit reception venues and decide on one.

We've decided on a photographer now, but I'm thinking I need to get wedding insurance before I book her.

  • I've just entered the murky world of insurance... I could only find 1 company where you can tailor your quote, the rest all do packages. But even then, the cheaper ones have some awful reviews. What to do?!?! Has anyone got any yet? I think it's something we want to get and could be very worthwhile.
We're waiting to hear back from a photographer to book a consultation, who seems amazing but she's very hard to pin down! I don't want to seem demanding but emails might escalate to a phone call if she doesn't respond soon! She gets booked up so quick I hope her delay doesn't mean we lose her! Not found any other decent ones in our budget yet.

I've bought wedding insurance with Debenhams today. Wow, she must be in demand if she's that difficult to get hold of!

Fuzzy duck is there any way you could do any extra things at home to increase your budget slightly to give you a tiny bit of leeway?

Oops just saw this! My partner's currently looking for a better paid job which would help a lot, and I'm also hoping for a pay rise soon. Failing that I'll look into selling some things to raise a bit of cash. I'm also making as many things as I feel comfortable with for the wedding, so doing my own bouquet, centrepieces, button holes, etc. A friend is going to make my cake.

That's great :) I wish I could do things like that, but I fear I'd end up wasting money by messing it up and having to get someone else to do it in the end anyway :o

We're going to look at a venue for the reception on Saturday :) Apparently the day after the date we want is booked already!

*Sigh* More family dramas, but hopefully they've been resolved now *touch wood*

  • dinglefoot... Noooo to family dramas! We've been keeping everything quiet so no one knows so they can't complain or provide "helpfull" suggestions! :D

We saw the photographer last night. She was great! Really really like her and love her pics. However we probably want a bit more than the basic package she does but stretching to the next one, which is perfect, might be a it much. Going to have to really work out a budget for everything else so we know what we've got to play with.
How is everyone's budget splitting out? We were thinking about half on venue, food & drinks then everything else the other half. Hopefully! Need to start researching how much other things might cost now but I think (or hope) we're getting the most expensive things out the way first. The only way is down! :T

Hey purple runner, our budget is working out, half on the food and the other half on everything else... Got a quote for a band there, €1600 for 3 hours! Like are you kidding me??? Thats mental money :O

Our guest list just keeps going up and up but I'm hoping that I will get a lot of no replies when we send out our RSVPs! (is that awful to say?)..

I'm gonna DIY/bargain buy everything else! Our photographer is our friend. When we go home, we are gonna have to talk money with him. I've budgeted €1500 for this but I know on his website it says he has packages from €1000 so I'm hoping he will give us the friends discount. Mainly cos I need that extra money!

Looked at Dessy multiway dresses online which are lovely and I'm thinking I will get the girls their dresses from there as they could wear them to balls etc after
