    Hi Clarabell :)

I've had a good chat with my parents this evening, I finally had the guts to chat to them about it all.

We've agreed on a local venue we all like that my parents will help us to pay for and we are going to organise a visit to make sure it's right for us. We've been there before for other parties/weddings and it was very nice. Of course, we need to check that they have our date available too, which is nerve-racking!

I'm going to get to work on save the dates now :) So much has been lifted off my mind now :)

  • Wow clarabell1984 - you've done so much already!

Just an update - my fiance's a builder so we're (ok not really me!) trading skills with a relative's friend who's a photographer. He'll do her bathroom and she'll do our photos for the entire day. It's a big 1k saving already for a weekend of work!

We've been to see a couple of venues in London, one which stood out but it's still early days and there are pros and cons with both (has anyone found one that ticks all the boxes?!)

My sis-in-law to be has said she'll help with table decorations, button holes and bouquets (she's amazing!) so we plan to go to a flower market a day or two before and make our own, without mentioning the 'W' word if possible to keep costs down...

How's everyone else's plans coming along? Any other new 2015 brides to be? :)
  • Hey Paloma, I know with my venue I did give a bit of leeway as they gave such a good deal on the wedding food. Not too keen on their bridal suite as I've seen nicer when working in other hotels but its only a room I suppose!

Plans aren't really coming along,as I'm abroad and have to plan from here. Trying to get a band and a dj in our budget is like finding a needle in a haystack! LOL

My auntie offered to do the flowers for the church for me. But I'm not completely sure if I should take the offer up as at my mums wedding she totally took over.. decisions.. It would make my life a little easier but then my bouquets mightn't match the actual flowers she does! Gah!

Other than that, finally decided on a colour scheme - purple and green

  • Hello everyone! It's been a while but sounds like plans are coming along. :j
We went to a family gathering at the weekend and were asked if we're excited about wedding planning... I said if we were constantly excited until the wedding we'd be exhausted! Has anyone else found the excitement dies down after a while? Ours has turned into a list of things to do!
My mum is making our cake and was very very excited when I showed her my shoes at the weekend! :rotfl:
Can't remember if I said but we've now booked our photographer. I've left the DJ to my fiance... Nothing has happened there yet but I saw a deal with one for 20% off if booked by the end of Nov so want to look into that. Any tips on getting men to do stuff? :p
I'm back at uni now, part-time, and still working full time so planning has been put on-hold. I'm happy with where we are though, minus the DJ!

    buy wedding dress from SPAMbridal.com

No contact address on the website.

Address on domain registration hidden by proxy.

Very likely that anyone ordering would either get no dress or some cheap Chinese tat.

  • Finally found a band and DJ within €100 of our budget, thank god!

Not planning on doing much wedding planning as such as we go home.. We've bits to do when we get home but I don't want it to take up my two weeks.

I got some shocking news this wk... Not impressed by my families reaction so far..

  • Hey everyone! Gosh, it is quiet on this thread...

So I was home for 2 weeks and I went wedding dress shopping. Tried on about 15 dresses I would say and I've my mind set on one dress! Now there is someone selling a brand new, unaltered version of my dress for £650. Is this a bit dear to be buying a dress secondhand?

It's really the only dress so far I have seen and loved but my thing is that its still 21 months until I get married. Am I mad to buy a dress so early? I didn't see it in any bridal magazines and its from the 2013 collection so I guess I am just worried about it being discontinued!

I've also been wedding dress shopping on Saturday and I think I've found "the dress" :D

I'm not sure if that's dear or not, I guess it depends on how much it costs to start with and if you need any alterations :)

I wondered if I was too early to go shopping too, but one of my colleagues bought her dress with 19 months to go and I have just under 17 months to go :)

I know there are people on here who have bought their dresses 2-3 years in advance though ;)

I'm going to try the dress on again on Saturday and quite possibly order it...I think mine's from a 2013 collection too actually!

  • Oh yay dinglefoot (seen your other thread!)

Yeah, well I found a store that sells that dress for €400 less than what I was orginally quoted which is a huge saving already.. It's €1190, and the budget in my head was €1000 for the dress but we have €2000 written in our actual budget! So, I *think* I might ask how much the deposit is and put it down.. I can't stop thinking about it, its making me crazy! I did get told that mine is a fairly popular dress so they don't think it will be discontinued but you never know!

Might ask my mum if she'd like to buy me my veil and maybe belt? Or I might Ebay them!
