Abused while standing at my car in a disabled bay

I had been standing at my car with the door open just catching my breath before getting in when a man in his late 50’s stood at the back of my car said very loudly “I was going to park there but I’m not disabled. Oh neither are you!” I was somewhat shocked but managed to say “the blue badge is a bit of a clue”. He looked at the front of my car and on seeing my badge made a comment I didn’t catch and walked into the shop. This is the second time this has happened to me, the first time I hadn’t even got out of the car before a man of similar age made a derisory comment about me having an expensive car and walked away (my car is 13 year old Mazda). I know I shouldn’t be but I can’t believe how much this latest incident has upset me. I myself am a 50 year old man and am ashamed to think that these morons would be put in the same demographics as me.

It's really not worth letting them get to you, show them the middle finger and move on. I only say this because you were breathless at the time.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

The engineer of this crime against the disabled is the Government, feeding the REDtop apparatchiks. However the reason they were able to do so is because of the dishonest behaviour of in this case the dishonest small % of Blue Badge holders who provided the base statistics for the onslaught on the remaining 90% of good honest law abiding DLA recipients and BB holders.
The demographic for the abuser is anywhere from school age to OAP, but the demographic for the original cause of the peoblem is about your age 50+ who form the majority of DLAHRM's and Blue Badge holders. I for one am ashamed that the disabled themselves brought this great big clunking fist of a Government down on the heads of the Disabled infirm and vulnerable.
O/P - ignore what happened, and get thick skinned, because it will happen again, particularly while the welfare reforms are enacted. The Government will continue to fuel the chav's till they get all the reforms through and that's still 5 years away. There will always be eejits, ignore them.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I try to be an even-handed poster and accept that you at times may not agree with these opinions or how I choose to express them, this is not my problem. I don't think it's abusive if a remark is made when someone hasn't seen your badge. If you didn't hear the second comment, it might have been an apology.0

A young-ish lad I knew had a similar one. He pulled into a parking space driving a low, modified car and some woman took it upon herself to chastise him for parking in a disabled space when there was clearly nothing wrong with him.
He leant out the window and presented her with his prosthetic right leg :rotfl:Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?

It is shocking tbh! I only park in disabled spots if i have too, and i have a BB. In fact, ive moved to let a wav have my space. xThe feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!
The pride my children told me they had in me was even better!!!!! # setting positive example to children is OUTSTANDING!!!! !:grouphug::grouphug::smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea0 -
OP, I would take comfort in the knowledge that as much as they stamp their feet over the situation, your BB gives you that little more right to park in the bay than they could ever hope for. Allow them their moment of jealousy and laugh in the face of their tantrums.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
