Paul, you're a star! I've just had a good chuckle at your post. Spot on!!

I'm one of the many people on here who are still awaiting the illusive last 1000 Nectar points.

Would it not just have been easier to give them us all in one go?!

I am also still waiting for that elusive final 1000 points.

Nectar told me it was down to Amex.

Amex told me it would be credited with my second credit card statement - it was not.

Amex then told me it was down to Nectar.

Sent an email to Nectar - they responded by asking for my DOB and confirmation code which was included in their reply.

I duly responded and got no response from them.

I again emailed Nectar - they again responded by asking for my DOB and confirmation code, both of which were already included in that email.

    Delay tactics?

Got a response from Nectar today again requesting my DOB before they can investigate further, AMAZING!

Like you, I will not give in, this behaviour from both Amex and Nectar is unacceptable. If they offer a promotion they should ensure that:
    A) they stick to their terms and conditions for that promotion
    B) they ensure their staff are aware of the promotion
    C) they correct their errors with the minimum of fuss

Well fingers crossed I should hear back from them by tomorrow, probably requesting my DOB AGAIN!!!!

I received the following mail from Nectar.

    Nectar Card Number: xxxxxxxx
Thank you for your email regarding your application for American Express through Nectar eStores.
I have checked your account and I can see that you have received in total 4,000 points from Nectar eStores. A further 1,000 points has been applied from American Express. American Express have notified us of an error made when applying points and they have incorrectly awarded 1,000 points instead of the required 2,000. To correct this, please contact American Express on 0800 700 727 and their dedicated team will correct the points for you.
Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused.
You can make the most of your Nectar account when you go online at www.nectar.com .Check out how many points you’ve collected; how many you’ve spent on rewards; see what bonus points are on offer; and find local sponsors. Plus much more!
New! We are pleased to introduce the AA to the Nectar programme. You can now have the reassurance of being a member of the UK's No.1 breakdown service and collect 2 Nectar points per £1 spent. For more information call the AA on 0800 477 499, or visit www.nectar.com.

I phoned Amex C/S and spoke to a lovely girl called Gemma and she said that my missing 1000 Nectar points will be added to my account after she's finished my call. :rotfl:

I told her that there are many others who have been blogging on MSE are affected. She said Amex were aware of the error but were not sure who have been affected.

I asked her if I can quote her on MSE and inform others who have been affected and she said "yes".

So I urge you all to phone Gemma (or any other rep) on 0800 700 727 (Press 1 then 1 C/S).

Well I hope those who have not received their final 1000 points are all happy with this news.:j

    Good luck.

I have just called AMex and they were very helpful - they thought it was all sorted out but are happy to put it right if they are told about the problem. Thanks again.

Finally received my last 1,000 points today from Amex. I'm tempted by the Sony Amex card offer in this weeks email, but I don't think I can bear having to chase another load of points from them.

    even_steven,

Please read my thread below posted a month ago.
In it I had posted the same tip.
I can confirm that both my wife and I both received 11,000 points each from Sony Amex MBNA card without any hassle.

Another poster had also received the same.

Thanks Cobra, that thread also answers the other questions I had about the Sony Amex, namely whether I could apply and get the points after already having the Sony Visa, and whether my points from both accounts could be merged. Very helpful. :D

The only thing is that I may not be able to combine the points but I'm still trying.

I have read many of the postings here, I think Nectar and American Express are jointly responsible for these fine messes of not awarding us points. I did receive 1000 points originally from Amex, and after several calls, was awarded the second 1000 points from them today.

Todate however I have not received any points from nectar, even though I appled for the card before the cut off date of 31st March 2007 via the estores website.

I telephoned the nectar helpline this morning, was told by a customer agent, he would email another dept to resolve this. I think this service is terrible. Like someone said earlier, we have played the game, and kept to our part, so why have these companies not played theres, mmmmmmmmm, no one should give up, if you applied before the 31st March as mentioned in there t&c, then you are entitled to 6000 points, 2000 from amex on your first ststaement, and 4000 by the 31st may 07from nectar..

Once i have my points, the card will be stopped, Amex and nectar are truely rubbish
Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!

    Hiya

I noticed that you have a nectar credit card. I was thinking about getting one myself but am not entirely sure of the terms & conditions involved. To get the free nectar points, do you have to spend a certain amount? & do you have to use the card, for example, every month or a certain amount of times to get them?

I'd appreciate any help anyone can give me on this.

    Thanks,

    Lozzie

Telephoned both Nectar and Amex and still don't have my final 1000 points.

The lady at Nectar even sounded suprised as though she'd never heard of this happening before.:mad:
