Orange 'Free' Broadband

Hi Eva,
Yes, in total my case was 9 weeks from 21st August start to 20th October when I agreed the £250.
What I meant in my post was that I waited 3 weeks from when I was told my case was passed to the special team and they would call me `soon` and when they actually called me !
Not so good at explaining it all though ....

Orange retained their Mobile Contract Customers by offering ‘Free BB for Life’ as an inducement to renew their Mobile Contract for a minimum term, and most of us relied upon that representation that Orange would not remove this incentive, certainly, it was not foreseeable at the time of renewal this would be to our detriment some time into a new contract.
Customers are now under duress to accept the current offer which is a substantial variation in terms, and has to be acceptable…0 -
Has anyone else who left Orange had there email deactivated without warning?
I left for Sky in July but Orange only just cancelled my contract, but they have also cancelled my free email address too and didn't tell me.
I have tried calling them but was on hold for over an hr so hung up, emailed them only to get an email back saying they don't answer emails, went on there online chat but no advisor came on! I am lost, i rely on my emails espically at the weekends when i do the local football league results.
I am now happily migrated to BT broadband, hence my total package is now with BT.
The increase to my package price is £8.10pm, and must represent the best value ever for £2 a week. Our rural location would only support a 0.5meg speed with Orange, which I was always informed (by Orange) was the best support available. I have done several speed tests since BT broadband was connected, and these range from 1.5meg to 1.6 meg. The improvement with surfing and downloading is very tangible. :j
As for email, I find that I can still send and receive on my old Orange email address, although only via the Orange website. However, a considerable benefit with BT email is that it can be accessed either through Outlook Express (as in my case) or through Yahoo Mail.
All in all, my stress levels have now subsided in inverse proportion to my new broadband speed. I never wish to go through the wringer like this again, due entirely to Orange's mendacity, and rapacious drive for ill-gotten gain. I will now eke out my remaining years with BT :A, as I suspect that BT will always be there, or thereabouts, in terms of service and value. Furthermore, BT is not a transient fly-by-night company like Orange, who change their guise as often as I change my socks. Freeserve ...... then Wanadoo .......... then Orange ......... now Everything Everywhere. So, what in 2013 ?? I have learned my lesson !
Good luck to the rest of you. Of course, each person's circumstances are unique. :beer:0 -
The only problem with transferring to BT is you only get 10GB not unlimited BB.
You could have gotten BT for £5 a month

For those that are being offered £28 compensation credited to your account. Make sure it is credited to your mobile account, otherwise it is pointless as your monthly BB bill is NIL, so you will not gain anything until your contract ends.0

When I talked to the "Special Sale team", they said they can only credit Broadband account. Somebody else also mentioned the similar situation. In other words, Enough is Enough are being very consistent in terms of being absolute disreputable. They are giving you "something" which is absolutely useless!0 -
