    Keeping chipping away at Ofcom.

This one just gone, will keep all posted.

Many thanks for the reply to my Freedom Of Information (FOI) request, your ref 1-219350478.

I look forward to the reply to the second FOI request, your ref 1-220381581, due 20th November 2012.

So we do not drag this out as an exercise in guessing semantics please accept this email as a third FOI request for audio recordings, transcripts, page notes, file notes, diary notes and other method used by Ofcom in recording the interactions between Ofcom and Orange with regards the issue of Orange’s withdrawal of free broadband for its mobile customers.

In the multiple communications we have had with in respect of the above issue, Ofcom have described their inter action with Orange variously as; verbal communications, engagement, discussions, and being advised by Orange on certain points.

I presume as a public body that needs to account for itself, regardless of the terms used above, that there is some form of recording of these events.

Now this recording of the information maybe audio, email, letter etc. I do not know how you keep note of these interactions.

What I do know, is that the basis of my FOI request is that I and the group I represent wish to see these interactions in whatever form they exist.

So this can run smoothly, and to avoid Ofcom giving the impression that they may be being awkward, please ring me on the number below, should you seek further clarity.

A simple and fourth FOI request is that I would like to know the number of complaints that Ofcom had regarding the issue in question.

    Well done, NickBirkin!
  • I have just noticed the petition has already been "tweaked" by someone. I like the new acronym associated with EE -Enough's Enough! The media will probably like that as a new headline to use! Well done! Keep signing!
    New tagline now reads:
Ofcom:Enough's Enough!Give Orange/EE customers back their FREE broadband!

    Like the new logo heading!
  • you can share a link to the petition on facebook just copy the petition link and post it on your status page. SEND IT VIRAL!

If anyone you know has a mobile contract with Orange/EE and they have free broadband but haven't received a letter yet telling them they will have their BB service cut off, please forward them this link and help them keep the broadband service they signed up and paid for!

Ofcom's is failing to support the very people they are there to protect, namely us, the consumer, by failing to take Orange, now re branded EE, to task...

Too right, but our repeated badgering of Ofcom has certainly got Orange to change their tune extend the Free Broadband to the end of current contracts (really the most we could hope for.)
Remember the first calls in August; "There's no way on earth we're going to back down on this" was the party line sung by Orange employees.
This will have been taken as written in stone by so many not as savy customers and they will have accepted the situation.
What we need now is Orange not to just offer it, not just to those who make the most noise, but all of the 90,000 that they have affected.
  • Has anyone managed to get it included into their written confirmation that Orange won't start to enforce the 2GB download limit? I completely forgot to ask when I was getting my "extension".

Have just had the City Park Technologies "Customer Services" manager tell me that nobody has been offered a credit in excess of £28.00. Nobody! he was adamant about this.
To clarify things he went on to tell me no-one in Orange had the power to offer more, it was not an out sourced call centre limit.
He was also adamant that nobody has been allowed out of their mobile contract penalty free.
Please all that have, please post to the high heavens if this is not the case.
Someone is lying and I don't think it's the folk on the forum.

Feel free to pm me or post with amounts and dates!
Defending a bad business choice by Orange I can tolerate, bare faced lying I cannot.
