Has anyboby read my post 2539? Ring them up!! They gave in after 5 mins. Stop wittering and call them .

The response you get depends on which call centre you go through to. I've now called 0800 294 4747 (orange broadband no.) a number of times. According to one of the staff I spoke to about 70% of the traffic is directed to a call centre in Glasgow and 30% to another centre.
I've finally got a resolution (about a hour ago) from speaking to a manager (who was helpful and polite) in the Glasgow call centre. The members of staff who spoke to me before finding a manager were also helpful and polite and prepared to listen to my complaint.

In contrast the staff at the other call centre just did their best to sell me a new landline and the manager I got to speak to was quite rude, wouldn't listen to my story about mis-selling, and kept talking over me, saying "that wouldn't have happened" and "no, it didn't go like that" when I said I'd been promised BB for the contract. I ended the call with her and immediately re-dialled and luckily got Glasgow the next time (but once I'd sussed out this difference from a couple of calls, would have kept re-dialling until I did anyway)

Anyway, having lurked on this forum now for a few weeks, I just thought I'd add my experience and say thankyou to the advice I've gleaned from others.

(btw - if you can't tell the difference between the accents of the support staff, you get silent hold while waiting for a transfer to a manager in Glasgow, and "Africa" as hold music in the other call centre. At this point you're as well hanging up and redialling)

  • Well done! What address did your email come from, can you tell by right clicking on "properties" on the email? I can't get anyone to send me writtern confirmation! Maybe because I am classed as "trouble" ! lol :rotfl:
Yes at last!!!!!!!!!!! See post 2576.

At 5.55pm, got the email comfirming BB free until the end of my mobile contract August 2014.
Also confirmation of the good will gesture to be paid into my mobile account in full. Now the ball is in my court I will NOT grant closure on my case until the money is 'in the bank'. So all of you hang out and demand the new agreement in writing!
