Hi all,
BBC Radio 5 Live will be talking about this issue on tomorrow’s consumer team between 12:00 and 13:00. If you’d like to tell your story on air please email or call Guy Kilty on guy.kilty@bbc.co.uk or 0161 335 6610.0 -
I was definitely offered free broadband for life, on several occasions, by Orange, as was my wife.
Given my experiences with Orange, and the woeful reputation of their broadband offering, I personally valued that offer at rather a large, negative amount, so never signed up.0 -

OK I have started this petition on www.change.org. to petition Ofcom because at the end of the day they are the ones that have to do something about this by ruling on EE's disgraceful tactics.I know they are currently passing the buck, but its important as consumers who pay their wages to not let them. They exist for us,the consumer, not Orange!
But I wanted to sign it first! :j:T0 -

orange disconnected my family at the weekend after we received a phonecall from one of their salespeople asking us whether we were going to take up their line rental or not. After strongly telling them 'NO' we woke up saturday to find they had disconnected us. We phoned them to complain that day as our disconnection date wasn't meant to be until the 5th November; we were told our connection would be reinstated but it would take up to 48 hours (Monday). So, along came Monday, still no internet, we phone again to complain, they apologise and say it will be switched back on. Tuesday, still no internet, complain again, told it will DEFINITELY be back on before the next day. We also receive another letter from Orange telling us we will be disconnected on the 22nd November if we do not respond, so a futher 17 days added to the original cut off date. Wednesday morning, still no internet. Essentially what Orange has done now is break consumer laws and I will now be making complaints to anyone that will listen as this quite frankly is disgusting. My dad lost his job last month and it is a requirement that he continues to apply for at least 4 jobs a week online in order to receive his jobseekers allowance. If he doesn't get that this month I will personally charge this to Orange as well.
I've seen the daily mail story and according to that someone has received £250 compensation; I will be looking for compensation in that region for my parents too.0 -

Update to the above, my parents just phone Orange again and were told it wasn't going to be reconnected, so all 4 people who they had spoken to before that point had directly lied to my parents. Now been quoted as taking 48 hours again before it will be reconnected. Watch this space, I am going to ring them myself when I get home from work and will not hang up the phone til we are reconnected.0 -
Similar to Jimmijamie above, I was cut off (e mail account) on Saturday but not after a conversation on the Friday. It was however similar story, phoned them and was told it was an error and would be reconnected within 24 hours. Phoned them on the Sunday, sorry you should have been told 48 hours. Monday, still not connected. Sorry, not put through properly........will now put the request through, will be ok in 48 hours! 2 days later, still not connected..........phoned again, sorry sir, i will connect you now, should be on in 10 minutes!!!!
First problem sorted.......now just to get the rest of it done.
A brief recap of my saga, very similar to everyone else but this time I can add that i was offered £8 a month back in august but did not take it up as I felt so annoyed at the way it was done. Now discussed that option with 'Cara Thursby' who was able to offer the free broadband until the end of contract but 'There are no notes' from this being offered! Strange that eh.........MAC obtained0 -
I have emailed Guy my case and asked if he can get a "legal eagle" to clarify the situation on mis selling and get a comment from an Ofcom spokesperson. Please all email him or call ,we need to get more media exposure.Once this has been on Five Live, next step Jeremy Vine and Martin Lewis to have a discussion on it.Hi all,
