I got the impression he was leading me into the sales team to come up with a deal, hopefully I can discuss and get what is rightfully owed, but reading previous posts it seems that it's only the execs office that are granting demands, we'll see. Thanks

Stand your ground and insist on what suits you!

Remember they are a sales team

They may well offer you a deal but it now appears they can also agree free BB for the remainder of your mobile contract;)

Anyone asked Ofcom for a update on thier position? Perhaps all those with Ofcom reference numbers should all copy/paste a template letter that you have all heard Ofcom made a ruling against Orange about the blanket FREE broadband withdrawl and if true you require to know the details given your position

    ??

Eva, you up for a template?
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)
  • I won't settle for anything less! Thanks Eva

So the people who got BB paying less than 30 a month - all had retention special case deals?

It can't hurt to find out did Ofcom make a ruling, in numbers it can't be ignored or brushed aside. Ofcom know we are here in MSE in revulsion against our legal rights being withdrawn with their approval, we have done it to Orange now it's their turn to be open and honest like a regulator should be, but enforced by us to release any ruling or interaction between itself & Orange.

No, in 2008, Orange advertised (on their own website I'm sure in small print!) that only a pay monthly contract was required. No minimum amount. Cheapest monthly contract was £15 at the time I believe.

I understand what others mentioned on forum that people got pay as you go sim through retention to keep free broadband.

So moon777, your claim would be valid if mis-sold, because the pay monthly below £30 applied to all and were not retention deals.

I can say with confidence because my 2008 renewal was not a retention deal. Also I usually am meticulous and financially astute, and remember being very happy at the time about this and reducing to only £20 after the first £30 mth 18 mths contract.

So if its own website said that - and yet sales said 30 minimum to keep free BB - sales did miss sell me upgrades from 2008 - and anyone else in my position.

    Hi Moon777
My original 'free for life' contract was on a £30 pm phone deal for my wife.
When she stopped working and renewal day came, we asked to reduce mins to £15 pm and to forgo the free bb. After calling a supervisor, it was decided to allow continuation of free bb as before. A week later, we had a call to say 'a mistake had been made, and that we needed to have a least a£25 phone contract. Explained loads of mins not now required & said we were considering changing to BT for bb. Customer Service person told us to forget the call and continue as before.
Last year had a call saying 'free broadband was ending unless we upgraded and paid more'. Again refused and told forget the call, it was over zealous salesperson, everything would remain as before.
Now almost a year later we are here, with the threat 'give us more money or we cut you off'.
Anyone else fancy renewing with this outfit.
My intention is to grab all I can and make for the exit.

Please feel free to use any of this in your fight for refund
    Regards
    Will

Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

    Date of Complaint

    Re: Orange mis-sold Mobile Contracts
    Dear Sirs,

I write regarding my complaint logged against the above reference number.

I understand mis-selling of mobile contracts by Orange has been under investigation by Ofcom.

It has come to my attention that Ofcom has issued a directive/ruling against Orange Mobile Services on this complaint - That Orange continues to provide Home Broadband Services free of charge for the duration of their current Mobile Phone contract.

Can you confirm this is correct?

Some customers are now being offered this option.

What is unclear, and for which I seek clarification:

    • Is this a ‘blanket’ decision to be applied to all current Mobile Contract customers for who free home broadband is an integral part of their contract?

    • Is this only applicable to customers following the Orange Complaints Code of Practice?

    • If either of the above is true, is there an announcement imminent by Ofcom or Orange?

    • If only option 2 is applicable, please explain why it is not a blanket decision?

    Yours faithfully
