As of tomorrow, the ruling will be in effect. I told one customer today to call back tomorrow and tell the agent what he told me so that he will be dealt with by a supervisor to a satisfactory standard (based on Ofcom's ruling).

It's not getting out of mobile contract though as someone mentioned. It's two separate parts of the business so if that is happening too, it's unrelated.

e: and I'd still like to have seen my name as apparently some others have been mentioned! I've not been bad to any customer so I would have surely got a glowing review despite what Orange are doing lol

I am so glad I wasn't holding my breath whilst waiting!

Do you have any further updates/announcements for us???

Hi all,

Just to let you know MSE is still looking into this and we are keeping an eye on this thread.

I did post a few weeks ago and some of you sent over documents, ts&cs etc stating that broadband was either 'free for life' or evidence that implied that free broadband would last indefinitely as long as you had the correct mobile phone contract (thanks to all those who did) - but if anyone else has anything from Orange to suggest this, please email me at: helen@moneysavingexpert.com

It would also really help if you can let me know where you got this evidence from ie, was it sent to you directly from Orange, or passed on from someone on this thread. Thanks.

MSE Helen

The three words that come to mind when I read your post Helen.

Where were you when we needed you ?

This is not all over but I feel we are very near the end.

The last thing I want to see is Martin Lewis on the TV and listen to on the radio telling us how he has `sorted it all out for us`

There were many calls for him to get involved but there was no response apart from your request for `evidence` and that was way into this thread.

Sorry but I do not mean to offend but I say it as I see it.

I did the same - never used even 50% of my monthly allowance and always maintained my mobile account at £30+

I'm in a similar position and get regular text messages from orange saying that they have reviewed my account and confirm that I am on the best tariff for my usage. I know I could have got a cheaper call package but assumed that the free broadband was factored into the review. Given recent posts in this Forum I'm begining to wonder if Orange's IT system relating to Broadband accounts was linked in any way whatsoever to the mobile accounts. I know that both my accounts are separate - the broadband having been set up in the old Freeserve days and made FREE when I took out a mobile contract with Orange in 2006.
• Yet another phone call to the exec office, being told me problem has been upgraded to the urgent list and yet another email to orange still awaiting a reply will keep you updated
• After all my hopes having been built up

I am still waiting for Mr Right

Here here!!!!!!!!

The only people who can take any credit are the members of this forum!

Like-minded strangers with a common cause - helped each other and saw it through!

And the only thing MSE did was facilitate our meeting place;)
• My only concern is that they could play hard-ball and enforce the 2GB download limit on the free broadband, which was what I was on.
As i use approx 100GB per month (NetFlix etc) I would get absolutely caned with charges.

I've moved my landline now, and consider the matter closed, but they won't be getting my repeat business in 18 months time.
• Sorry to disagree with you Moon777, but there are many differing points of view and many differing sets of circumstances involved here.

The seeds for the whole sorry mess were sown with the "too good to miss" FREE FOR LIFE enticement to pay more money than we were paying previously. And whilst the withdrawal of service in mid-contract is clearly wrong,so too is the misleading and Misselling.

Guess what I am saying is " If you feel aggrieved, go for it"

But it is very important - to provide a place where the like-minded can convene!
I felt very down at some point... Felt as there were a huge concrete wall in front of me and whatever I did, it could not move that bloody cold wall... Waited for my 8 weeks to write to CISAS after numerous and useless phone calls to CS... Until I googled and found this site. It changed a lot!

I don't think it is fair to wait for a saviour to do all the job for us. It is up to us and together we have achieved a lot already!!

moon777 - you have a 6 year time limit for any claim, so certainly worth taking advice.

Since initial 2006 18 mth contract, I have renewed 3 times on a pay monthly contract.

I know that in 2008 Orange changed the terms from £30 to only requiring a pay monthly contract and did not specify an amount. At the time I believe the cheapest pay monthly tariff was £15.

Of course the pay monthly price also depended on the cost of your handset, number of txts, minutes and if data.

In 2008 I reduced to £20 month, but this was a free cheap nokia 6300 and no data.

If you feel you were misinformed by sales staff and your usage and choice of handsets would indicate a lower cost than £30, then worth writing to the Executive Office to investigate your claim.

For others here to help more, can you indicate what handsets you had and your monthly usage ?

Thinking back to 2008, I had 300 mins and 300 txts and cheap nokia. No data then. My own usage has stayed the same, but now added 500mb data and blackberry . In my last three renewals my contract price has been £20 month.

I do not know when pay as you go was also allowed for free broadband, but not relevant for your situation.

Good luck!

Thanks - as i was told i had to spend a minimum of 30 from the 2008 upgrade - i have again been miss sold - repeatedly - and they have set the legal president by allowing others to get free BB spending less - like yourself. I am seeing my solicitor next week -and i am going back to car phone warehouse to ask why they also said if 30 a month free BB continues at my upgrade in 2011 (previous upgrades via Orange sales) - why did they say that, and did Orange say that to them!

Silly Orange - your in real big trouble now!
