  • I will have a look tonight to see if my speed has gone back to normal as it may have been a coincidence.

Strange the second line is working again, my service is showing as your Talk plan is: Wireless and Talk Service - Any Time International - Free calls to Orange so they better not charge for calls or another complaint to OFCOM. I print off copies of my account on a regular basis so I have proof if anything changes and I am not notified.

My second line is currently NOT working - getting 'Number Unobtainable' on all calls, even, obviously those to valid numbers. Service is still showing as:-
Home Select - with your Orange phone - £10.21 a month, up to 8 Meg speed, Livebox, Unlimited usage allowance (fair use policy applies). Plus inclusive calls via the Livebox to UK local and national numbers, calls to 30 international destinations (fair use policy applies) and calls to Orange Mobile customers.
So, if it still not working this afternoon, I'm assuming it's a local fault!

    Result!!!

I've just spoken to a very nice Scottish girl at Orange.

    Kara Thursby - 0800 2944747

She has just told me that following my Ofcom complaint, Orange will continue with my FREE BROADBAND till the end of my phone contract - Dec 2013.

Great news and I hope everyone gets the same satisfactory outcome.

After reading about people on here being offered £100 and being able to keep thier broadband until the end of the contract, I was amazed when the executive office would not offer me the same. So i gave them the notice of pre court action, as per instructions on here and they still didnt ring me or make me any offer .

As they just ignore me, ive issued a court summons. And then hey presto , htey get the summons, and someone does what ive been trying to ge tthem to do for weeks......ring me! still no offer though, so I told Orange they had thier chance to resovle my issue, and now that has passed.

Ill see them in court now.

    Hi,

As we have said before here, please do not wait for them to call you, ring the exec office, tell them where you are at in relation to all your actions to date.
Say you are just calling to see if they want to settle before it gets to court ....

    Good Luck !

  • Good Morning All,

So I leave watching the forum for 1 night to earn some `brownie points` with Mrs Nobby and what do I find this morning ....4 pages of action !

So it seems that the `Ofcom ruling` - I doubt it actually is a ruling and it is a directive from Ofcom telling Orange not to be so stupid and give the free bb and if they don`t they will be on dodgy ground - has been set in motion by the knobs at Orange.

Hopefully this means any new recievers of the letters/emails/texts will not have to go through 10 weeks of aggro. IHS88 seems to have got a positive answer this morning & it should now be the same for all.

Fitz, I don`t know where this leaves you - you are obviously a capable person and I sure you will get a favorable solution in the end although wether this is a return of your landline to Orange I somehow doubt. Time will tell on this.

In one of the posts it was said that the Orange exec office knew who I was, I am sure they do - my id forms part of my Orange email address so they don`t need to be `perry masons` to work it out !

I have not stopped posting here even though my case was resolved though as I am not saying anything here I would not and have not told the exec office directly. This is a complete !!!! up and should have been handled much much quicker and way more professionally. There is no way it should have been tried to be resolved on a case by case basis - that is trying to take advantage of some whilst trying to quieten the `loudest`.

Lets all hope - although we have done it before - that this is finally the beginning of the end of this customer rip off !

    Good Luck

  • Hi Nobby,

I did wait, almost 6 weeks, and after many emails ,phone calls etc, to the exec office and a promise that I would get a call in 48 hours I sent them notice of pre court action. they ignored that , so the summons was issued.

to this date orange have not given me any response in any format.

so court is the only way forward

    ill keep everyone updated.
  • Hi All,

I have been monitoring this forum with avid devotion for some time but my letter has finally arrived and prompted a new user post.

My issue is this: I have been a loyal orange customer since 2006. I joined on a 'free for life' deal as long as I had an eligible monthly contract (over £30) - still do, always have, never reduced the monthly rate below this. I am though now out of contract.

I was about to sign a new iPhone 5 contract and then paused waiting for the outcome of this customer service debacle. Having not signed a new contract I am now assuming though that I'll lose out on the free BB deal people are being offered til end of their current contracts.

Now though my main point of anger is either being forced to pay more for calls and landline, or being forced to pay more to have broadband with someone else.

Clearly I am free to leave as both a mobile customer and broadband one but it doesn't take away the issue above.

I will proceed with taking this to Ofcom as per previous posts - but wondered if anyone had any advice on my main point of complaint given that this situation is different to most of you who are still in contract and is therefore likely to elicit a standard 'this is a business decision' response?
  • Hi Very,

Difficult one for me, It has been said that because you have been on the same `offer` or whatever you want to call it, you are able to presume that it will continue. However as you are no longer in contract & Orange are notifying you of a change of terms I think it will not be an easy case to argue.

Some may say different - either way good luck.

    Hi,

For the sake of one more call to the exec office - poss worth a try.

Don`t understand at all if Orange will not settle `pre court` as you should be able that as others have been offered what you are asking for then how can they argue ?

    Good luck
