Orange/EE Broadband provided by BT Wholesale, BT Retail report Orange/EE to Ofcom :T :D:rotfl:

It is enforced SLAMMING at the end of the day.

For ONCE the fact Ofcom did not split BT into seperate companies ACTUALLY is working for the consumer ! Thats been what 30 years coming ?

handygranny is that from the early edition of todays Record or somewhere else ?

Sorry diamonds, went to bed before reading your post last night.

Yes the article was in early edition of Daily Record yesterday as I read it at 7am.

Any one else had their Livebox phone stop working today? Are they going to force people to move by making the service unusable? I use it all the time as I have free calls all day to normal numbers and Orange numbers so it is not through lack of use it has been disconnected.

Looks like the article people are mentioning. Rather infuriatingly ambiguous and vague.

I hope there is a favorable ofcom ruling, not more chinese whispers. Fingers crossed its not a favorable offer for an orange landline.

Be careful - I read somewhere from Orange that if I continued using my 2nd line after 28th October I think it was, then I would be charged for it! I have disconnected my phone from 2nd line. I had no choice but to move my landline to orange, which I did not want to do but as I said I had no choice. My mobile is out of contract but I get unlimited landline calls. BT just sent me a letter saying there will be no charge for ending with them even though my contract is until April - really nice of them, so Orange are off the hook on that too.

Good luck all of you fighting on.

Could this be a previous complaint issue re mis-selling? Because this relates to period of 1 Feb - 31 Aug 2011 only.

I hope it is relating to earlier complaints. I cannot see how OFCOM could take no further action in the light of the Broadband debacle.

    Taken from Ofcom site.

    http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/enforcement/competition-bulletins/closed-cases/all-closed-cases/cw_01074/

Ofcom has now concluded this investigation.

The investigation covered both Orange direct (retail stores, telesales, online) and indirect sales channels (resellers), and the Relevant Period for this investigation (over which we investigated Orange’s compliance with GC23) was 1 February to 31 August 2011. As part of the investigation, we gathered and assessed a number of forms of evidence.

These included Orange’s response to formal information requests, witness statements collected by Ofcom from individuals who had complained to us (where their sales interaction with Orange fell within the Relevant Period), and mobile mis-selling complaints received by Ofcom during 2011.

Following a thorough assessment of all the evidence gathered, Ofcom has decided not to take any further enforcement action at this stage.

This cant possibly relate to our complaint, given that it ranges back to 2006, and goes until at least the date of my complaint, which is March 2012. This must be another complaint re misselling. If it is I hope they take this into consideration when looking at the current debacle.

Yes, I agree, this ofcom announcement strikes me as a red herring as it was started a year ago, before most of us even entered our current contracts let alone fell afoul of them.

    http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/enforcement/competition-bulletins/open-cases/all-open-cases/

Lists their open cases and I'm afraid there is no mention of our problems there at all...
  • After reading about people on here being offered £100 and being able to keep thier broadband until the end of the contract, I was amazed when the executive office would not offer me the same. So i gave them the notice of pre court action, as per instructions on here and they still didnt ring me or make me any offer .

As they just ignore me, ive issued a court summons. And then hey presto , htey get the summons, and someone does what ive been trying to ge tthem to do for weeks......ring me! still no offer though, so I told Orange they had thier chance to resovle my issue, and now that has passed.

Ill see them in court now.

Strange the second line is working again, my service is showing as your Talk plan is: Wireless and Talk Service - Any Time International - Free calls to Orange so they better not charge for calls or another complaint to OFCOM. I print off copies of my account on a regular basis so I have proof if anything changes and I am not notified.
