This is true however in March 2012 Orange did not appear to offer it

    http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/market-data-research/market-data/communications-market-reports/cmr12/uk/UK5.65

I am now off to bed to reconsider - did I jump - or was I pushed? LOL

For the record pushed by Orange & Ofcom, both said Orange could...you can take legal action against both. And my dear EVA you need to report Ofcom to thier boss, the MINISTER aswell ;)

It's strange about standalone BB. It's advertised on Plusnet http://www.plus.net/ available as broadband only.

Although not very well advertised by Orange, they can still do Simply Broadband.
Because UNLIMITED means UNLIMITED cost to them & UNLIMITED profit to BT, and standalone is not subsidised by BT Wholesale Line Rental resold mark up profits to try and balance out the broadband running costs + PROFIT.

Orange stated broadband was for mobile customers to use wifi at home and they were not pulling out, the reality Orange wanted more profit for doing nothing to balance costs to BT and loss of profit as termination rates on mobile calls are falling every financial year by Ofcom, as Ofcom was told do enforce such as were all EU member states or EU Directive controlling termination rates were coming.

  • WONDER WHAT OLAF IS DOING TODAY. BET THE PRESS WILL HAVE A FIELD DAY.:rotfl::rotfl:

WELL ORANGE, I THINK YOU HAVE WELL AND TRULY BLOWN IT. AS FOR "EE" ROLLING OUT 4G OFCOM SHOULD RECONSIDER GIVING THEM THIS UNFAIR ADVANTAGE.

OFCOM - you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Hi all, I am giving the exec team until this friday to get back to me after my conversation and email to them. If not they will get another email to my named contact asking what is going on and am I on 'the magic list' as I should be.

On a second note, and call my cynical but I am :-) however just did a speedtest.net check and I now have a download speed of less than 1 mb/s whereas I have always had with no difficulties had between 6.5--8mb/s download for as long as i can remember.

Should I worry that Orange have had the cheek to reduce my line speed or is it just a coincidence. That will also go in my correspondence on friday should it continue.

My speed has significantly dropped as well, they clearly are narrowing bandwidths again.

Has anyone actually got something in writing from Orange stating free broadband for duration of contract?
