Orange 'Free' Broadband

Gizitch I think we all had more than one date when we were supposedly going to have our bb cut off - I had 3 !
Please just try to relax, I know it will not be easy but you will not be able to do any calls until Monday now.
If you want to do anything regarding this then I would say, and I know it`s not going to be the most exciting, but have a red through the whole thread of this forum from start to finish if you feel able.
You will then see that at the beginning most had fears like you, also you will see the number of people in the same situation and the way things have developed. There will new things you will learn also.
Please get strength from this, don`t let them get to you, it will work out in the end if you are able to stick with it.
I am sure many here will help in any way we can.

Gizitch I would go by the latest date given.
I don't think anyone has been cut off - but most have been given extended 2-3 cut off dates.
Just get on to it on Monday and try not to get too stressed - people are getting results as you can see, and you will too.0 -
I wouldnt worry too much about the cut off dates, I have had two as well so far, 11th and 7th november. Also just checked my orange email address received emails for the first time and i have had an email about a month ago saying something along the lines of :
"Our records show that you no longer have an Orange pay monthly mobile plan registered at your address. So unfortunately we can't continue to offer you free broadband on your current plan".
Had a non-stop mobile contract since 2006 so just shows that orange have no clue whats going on.
As others have said, speak to the exec team, they seem to know what they are talking about.0 -
You really need it sorted by the earliest cut off date... as they stated before the first is the cut of date.. the second is the termination date.
Im guessing the reason for two is the first cuts your access but can easily be put back on... the second terminates the service leaving your line free to go else where MAC code not required.
I think the best anybody can look for now is continuation of the current status quo until their mobile contract finishes and to look at plans and tariffs after that point. I cant see there being any more detrimental offers being made as technically nobody is if they are being offered broadband until their contract finishes. I dont think we need to talk about free broadband for life.......
Or taking their line rental offer.... Maybe push for a price match as im sure that £75 of credits is probably still available0 -
I was given 2 different cut off dates; when I called them I was told the 2nd date applied.
I would be very surprised if they actually cut anyone off:
a) They would/could then be in breach of contract
b) In view of the apparent 'turnaround' re free BB for the length of mobile contract.
And in particular would apply once a complaint has been logged with Ofcom and registered at the Executive Office.0 -
I am still waiting for any letters, email or phone call from Orange about my broadband. Not sure if I should be worried they will cut me off or if they have missed me. I have had broadband from the very start. My son also has the free broadband and he has received a letter. Are there others who have not had any notification from Orange?0

I was initially on the Free BB for life but moved to the unlimited £5.11 BB a few years ago. As of yet I have not received any cut off notification, just a couple of emails in regards to a brand change to EE. Just wondering if they hav'nt got around to those in a similar position yet ? I'm tempted to call them so I can get the legal ball rolling, if necessary ?0

Morning !
With ref to the £5.11 bb deal, I am sure ish` that there was some ref to this in the earlier pages....
I think you may not be affected but having said that if I was you I would just keep my head down and see what happens.
Unless that is others in the same situation say they have received notification from Orange that you will need to move your line rental to them.

Now for a plea to other forumites - I have amassed over 40 pages of assorted evidence, but would love to be able to provide the court with evidence of Oranges backdown in similar cases, so if anyone on here has any correspondence that they would be happy to let me have a copy of, please PM me - I won't post on the forum without consent, but would hope to be able to produce in court to further bolster my case.
On the plus point, at least I have found one part of Orange that does respond to communication - the legal team :T This is the ONLY team that have actually contacted me and my wife since this whole sorry saga began
Thanks again all :beer:0
