Orange 'Free' Broadband
Comments
-
sorry I am not allowed to post links as a newbie....it says orange line rental is £13.50 ....if this is the case then it is not FREE bb but 50p bb.....or am I being completely dumb0
-
You make your own judgement if you think it is still 'free' broadband.
The £14 mth, line rental and broadband 18 mth offer does not include off peak calls.
The £13.50 mth line rental, 12 mth offer includes off peak calls but you then have to pay another £5 for broadband. So £18.50 mth.
My argument is that the only line rental available to buy through the orange website or in and orange shop is £13.50 and includes calls,
the £14 deal that everyone with free bb is being offered is a 6 month longer contract, does not include calls and is 50p dearer....
surely this is miss-selling again as you are not getting free broadband if you take their land line as it is a completely different package....
I was told the broad band was free with their line rental.....their only advertised line rental is £13.50 with calls!0 -
I apologise for not knowing it had already been discussed, I should have checked, however 95 pages means a lot of content is hard to find I guess, I still think that those who have already signed up to the £14 deal early in the fear of loosing their broadband still have a claim to say they have been mislead if they wish to, I was told that the £14 was the only line rental and then when I have gone to see if it is the best deal before signing I cannot find it anywhere...therefore I feel it another misleading trick to entice me to sign up
again sorry for reposting topics already mentioned0 -
My bt line rental is only £4.80 a month and includes £1.50 worth of calls and free wkend 0845/0870 numbers so whatever happens now I cannot afford broadband as it will mean a considerable increase for me and as I am too early to reduce my mobile tariff I am screwed.....I appreciate all the hardwork and turmoil that others have gone through and posted on here to enable me to do the process much simpler and easier than what you have done due to the tips and guides you have shared, I am aware that I will probably loose my broadband before this process is complete...has anyone had any success in a reinstated bb at resolution after it has been terminated?0
-
Do not apologise 95 pages is a lot to read!
I have deleted my post as I misread your point!
But you are correct in you observation - as you have not already signed up, if you follow the procedure on how to log your complaint with Orange you will then be in a position to negotiate with them.

When do Orange say your BB will terminate? Date?0 -
Gizitch
Just checked and you say 5th Novemebr your cut off date, you still have time to get this sorted out and stop it happening.
Call Ofcom 1st thing on Monday and get a case reference number then you will be able to call exec office to discuss and log your complaint, ensure you tell them you have an Ofcom case number.0 -
Gizitch,
NO ! you will not lose your broadband !
DON`T let them make you think that.
If you took your mobile contract because you were told that you would get `free` bb ` then you were mis-sold to.
Contact Ofcom, insist they takea complaint from you over this and insist they give you a reference number.
Ring the Orange exec office, tell them Ofcom gave you their number, make a complaint saying you were mis-sold to as you only took your mobile contract on the strength of having free bb.
They will take their time, but they will not cut off your bb, if they say anything other than we will give you the bb until the end of your mobile contract then stay on the forum and we will help.
DO NOT GIVE IN !

Orange retained their Mobile Contract Customers by offering ‘Free BB for Life’ as an inducement to renew their Mobile Contract for a minimum term, and most of us relied upon that representation that Orange would not remove this incentive, certainly, it was not foreseeable at the time of renewal this would be to our detriment some time into a new contract.
Customers are now under duress to accept the current offer which is a substantial variation in terms, and has to be acceptable…

Thanks guys, I think I have just got myself all wound up and confused, I know how important the broadband is to everyone, I am disabled and its how I connect with the outside world and my care providers, I let them know this and I think they are using against me and are telling me things to make me panic and it worked,
one said it terminates on 5th another 16th and another said the beginning of nov so i am not entirely sure, also they wouldn't tell me the price to buy out of the contract.
I have seen people set amounts they require for compensation buy out etc, may I ask how you would go about estimating this cost?
My heart says I dont want anything to do with orange even if they do allow me to keep the bb for the contract length....i have lost faith and trust in them and require a stable comms provider....but my head says dont cut your nose off to spite your face....and it buys me plenty of time to properly research the broadband tarrifs especially with the new fibre line etc coming it may get competitive again...
Thanks again for all the tips and I will keep you posted, I cant tell you how much your posts on this forum have meant to me as I really was about to allow my broadband to be cut off as I thought I wouldnt be able to do anything. Thanks0
