Thanks EVA49,
Just printed the CAB page off from your link ,interesting reading. Would you suggest people wait for the Orange Executive Office to return their case call prio to contacting CAB?
Thanks

In the meantme I got a email off Orange BB team today, saying that if I wanted to carry on witrh my free broadband I would need to have an active Orange pay monthly mobile plan.Their records show I don't have one!!!!!!!!
Phone up BB within 2 minutes explained I was 3 months into my latest 24 month Pay
Monthly Contract with them and at this very moment was claiming gross mis-selling pratice that had been carried out by Orange mobile sales people along with many others. That at the moment this is being looked into by the OEO. He said very sorry about the e-mail and admitted that the email was incorrect and should never of been sent out to me today. He also stated many other customers have been sent this incorrect email. I would say do not let these people ware you down. Stick to your principle and take Orange to task!
By the way the man told me that all Phone sales over the phone are recorded (not just some), so anyone here should be able to here the original sale/contract conversation. The date along along with the mobile contract number will be enough. You do not need to know the sale persons namer (well according to this guy).
Kind Regards
That email is the same one sent out (to me) on 27th August!........they apologized then but are still sending it out!
Personally - I am beginning to believe this 'could' be a marketing trick to get people to phone and correct them on the mobile contract issue! - ?reverse cold calling?0 -

Eva49,
I agree completly on the email being sent to try to get people to switch line rental to Orange. The conversation with the man went slightly downhill when after admitting the error of sending the above email out to me, he went on to try to get me to switch from BT to a Orange line. Politly I declined explaining I would not be giving Orange another penny than I had to. That I sooner give my hard earned money to BT, O2 PLUSNET or anyother company than Orange. I suggested that I get my 2 Orange pay as you go mobile phones and infront of the local press smash them both to bits! (rant over).

It is not time critical I reported prior to resolution - mainly to get it passed to trading standards as they are only contactable via CAB.
Trading standards did call me back and inform me that mis-selling is a criminal offence. and dealt with by criminal law.
I was advised, going forward with a civil claim against Orange would be for misrepresentation and breach of contract.0 -

Is there any way of finding out how many complaints have been made to OFCOM?? How many complaints do OFCOM have to receive before they help us consumers and take action on our behalf?
I was also told my letter early October was sent in error. I went bolistic at the Orange CS person, he could'nt handle the call and I asked for a manager to speak to at which point he hung up. I was then called the next day and I explained what had happened, giving names , times and duration of call. Was then told the call was not logged on their system by the guy who hung up on me. Although I was told I could have my broadband free for the next two years I still will have to wait to get this in writing as, call me synical, I DONT TRUST ORANGE!!!
I myself used to work in customer services and I would never have spoken to customers or dealt with them in this fashion. ORANGE CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES.
Hopefully we will get good news soon, would be really embarassing if on the 29th October the Press published news of Orange Mis-selling to loyal customers of 15 years and more, especially with the launch of EE on the 30th October. Boy do they know how to lose customers!!!:mad:0 -
Good Afternoon All,
OK so all `done & dusted` today with Exec Office.
Free broadband to continue until end of mobile contract -Jan 2014.
New Brightbox -( wifi on my Wanadoo Livebox near useless) - free.
Poor £100 offer of compensation increased to an acceptable level - will be confirmed when I get it....
Nice to see others now being offered `free` bb till end of mobile contracts now.
I am sure that if others follow the advice given here they inturn will be offered an acceptable resolution either the material detriment route or continuation of bb til end of mobile contract.
I think it is safe now to say that if you are not offered one of these then fight on as I think a precedence has been set ( if thats the right term ) advice can be given on this here in the forum.
It seems a great shame that this `simple` resolution was not offered all those weeks ago in August but also lets not forget it is not the free broadband for life some of us were promised. Orange / EE credability has suffereda major blow over this whole issue and rightly so.
Good luck all
Nobby

Perhaps we should ALL target 1 newspaper and bombard them with all the information we have received from the little orange fairies right up to the Orange executive office and express our horror at being MIS-SOLD a mobile monthly contract and that as yet, OFCOM are not fighting our corner!!!! 30th OCTOBER is a big day for EE would love to see what the new EE customers make of it!!!!
It is a pity that ORANGE have not yet realised that MIS-SELLING will be what they are remembered for, soon to be EE. THE BANKS HAVE HOPEFULLY LEARNED TO THEIR COST. I rest my case.0 -
Well done nobby1963
But please remember there is quite a few of us out here still fighting on and could well need your help/advice (e.g. like EVA does in her posts)
Kind Regards0
