Note the sentence I have put in bold number & plan details won't change either.
That should mean I keep free broadband then??

Hello JeremyEverything Everywhere, the company behind Orange and T-Mobile is about to launch a new brand called EE.

EE is the new brand for a digital age and will offer the UK's first mobile 4G network and Fibre Broadband for the home, along with the UK's biggest 3G network. 4G will give you superfast internet on the move, making things like downloads, Facebook® and YouTube™ unbelievably quick.

it's all good news for you

As an Orange customer you'll now use EE's new 3G network, the biggest in the UK. EE will continue to invest to make it the best network in Britain. It's already 50% quicker for uploading photos and posting to Facebook® than the Orange network was at the start of the year. Soon you'll start to see EE on your phone screen.

We're investing in your high street too. That's why we will be replacing your local Orange and T-Mobile stores with exciting new EE stores, giving you access to almost twice as many stores as today. These EE stores will be staffed by teams of brilliantly helpful people - including specialists in smartphones and systems like Apple, BlackBerry®, Android and Microsoft.

still the Orange you know and love

You will continue to be an Orange customer. Everything you love about Orange will stay exactly the same including Orange Wednesdays and your number and plan details won't change either. If you have any further questions you'll find the answers here

be one of the first to know

Be one of the first to find out about all the great things EE has to offer, including how to move from Orange to EE to start enjoying superfast 4G as soon as it's ready.

Can I ask if any one has heard of any good broad band only deals, I have a really good landline rate with BT that I do not want to loose and have not found another provider yet who can even get near it let alone compare, however I am finding broadband only prices seem dearer than a combined broadband/landline deal. I even asked orange if they would give me a price for broadband and they said I couldn't have it without their landline, surely as I do now this is not true, also to the people who are signing up for their landline with free broadband deal....is it a single contract or a two separate ones, and is it conditional? As EE says that all customers will need to be on a Fibre line and if you don't have one in your area will they charge you extra to "borrow" the bt lines....later on?

i had a phonecall from orange today.
I had rang the exec office yesterday with my complaint number from ofcom & I was told I would be called back in upto seven days.
I thought todays phonecall was about it, but no it was'nt, it was the call centre asking me if I had decided what to do about the broadband ending.
I told him I had rang exec office & he was very nice & listened to what I had to say.
i told him that I & others have been long term loyal customers & that it was like being blackmailed to keep BB only if you swapped over the phone line rental to them.
I said why are orange treating loyal customers like this? but he just said i will leave it to the exec office to get back to you,
I said I had been on this site & why does orange just not let us all know on here what is happening? When I told him about how many views this subject had, he was taken by surprise.
I think it's time company's realised it's loyal customers that keep them going.

I had exactly the same phone call yesterday...
Nice lady with scottish accent rang me to ask if i had recieved my letter about my broadband ending.

I went on to tell her all about the correspondence i have sent to orange etc....
She just agreed with me and asked what my plans were?
She did a lot of listened and kept saying "that's fine" which was a bit annoying as its not fine.

In fact she didn't say much at all.

Anyway i found it strange that she did not try to sell me anything or argue any points.

The conversation ended in the the usual way, someone from the special team will ring me about my complaint soon.

I told her that's what you keep telling me but they never ring back. Also told her someone better ring soon as my broadband is due to be switched off next friday which will then breach the terms of contract and allow me to cancel my direct debit for my mobile phone. She said she will make a note!
Also formally asked for my MAC code just in case.

With reference to bb only from Orange, I was told by customer services that this was no longer an option.
However when I finally spoke to the `special` team I found out it was.
It is £13.50 if you are in a `normal` area - what`s normal ? I guess unless you are in a rural area ( Like me ) then you will probably be OK - towns / cities ( not rural towns though like me !0
If it`s not a `normal` area then it`s an extra £10 per month.

Hope that helps

What is Orange's defence to your claim? Very difficult for them to argue we did not have free broadband with our mobile contracts, when each month the bill says 0.00!
No defence submitted as yet, just the Acknowledgement of Service form, on which they have ticked the box indicating that they intend to defend all of this claim.

It is about 25years since I last gave evidence in court, so this could be good practise for me, and a first for my wife. Judges don't bite folks :)

Hi Woodlandman, I was speaking to a lady with a scottish accent yesterday who I was passed on to from around 7 other people, again nice lady...possible coincidence i know....but she started the conversation saying, "don't be upset, i know it seems bad but I will have you laughing by the end of the call" to then precede to try and sell me their land line which I told her I could ill afford, I would have to lose the mobile in order to pay any additional costs....after a while she admitted that the guy who told me a few months ago that he "guaranteed" that I would not only have free broadband at the end of my mobile contract but "in fact" as long as I remained an orange customer, had no way of knowing what was going to happen and hence didn't intend to mislead me.....is this her way of saying it isn't gross misselling if he didnt have the "intention", her only resolution for me was to buy out of my contract, but, when I asked her to confirm the day I will lose my bb and the cost of buying out, she cut me off.....or someone else did
maybe the staff at orange are starting to see what there bosses have done is wrong and now aren't believing the "separate contract" bull that they are trying to feed us.......when I mentioned earlier in the call that I believed they were in breach of contract and would be contacting my solicitor, a guy (whom I was told was a bb manager) laughed at me saying you are free to do so he will tell you that you are wasting your time, if it was illegal we wouldnt be allowed to do it....

my reason for mentioning this is this was yesterday ....some are reporting off compensation and backtracks.....but does the fact that only yesterday they laughed at me mean they have discovered some evidence that we are not expecting ...that they can use to win at court ....or is it simply a bully tactic to deter people like myself from trying to take the matter further?
i apologise that I dont seem to be able to write a short post....

Hi Woodlandman, I was speaking to a lady with a scottish accent yesterday....

...

I think many people are having problems due to who they are dealing with. The broadband team which was set up are an outsourced bought in team for 3 months to deal with the broadband switch over and take a bomb load of flack. They are also a sales orientated team who i would assume are on some kind of commission... as far as i can see is not in their interest to offer continuation of the current free broadband offer as there would be no change on your account.

I was told a whole stream of untruths yesterday by this team and only the executives office set the record strait.

I suggest you only deal with Exec office unless your looking for a offer with your landline.

also on a minor point orange is still advertising landline and broadband basic for £13.50 a month for exisiting customers on their website orange-redirect.co.uk/BroadbandChoice-ms40
so why is it that they were heavily trying to sell it to me yesterday at £14, I know its only a difference of 50p but surely this is illegal too?
