one of our forum members - having issued Court proceedings - Orange have acknowledged service! Which would indicate at this moment, they intend to defend!
Unless of course there is an 11th hour back-down/out of Court settlement.

I cannot believe the inconsistency in handling individual cases within such a huge corporation!
    Utterly crazy!

Defend ? thats laughable...."it's only cos we meant it for the first 12/18/24 months of contracts when we advertised "free for life broadband" it was for them 12/18/24 months life of the contracts, mobile & broadband contracts are not "for life" after the initial 12/18/24 months guv, this therefor means there was no "connection" EVER existed between mobile & broadband contracts exists your honour even if customer renewed a new 12/18/24 month mobile contract & kept FREE broadband ongoing it was not reasonable for the customer to believe both contracts would run concurrently inline with each other past the first 12/18/24 months from broadband connection, there is no valid claim, wEE enter a motion to dimiss this defamatory legal action against our good name & character guv" :rotfl::rotfl:

PMSL, I see in 5/6 years the Orange Legal Team have went from a toddler having a hissy fit it lost because the real party who had authority SHOWED authority to them, now being a teenager who thinks they know it all ! :D

Frankly Orange have always been dishonest in policies, France Telecom brought it in as a "standard", but this new standard lately is just like trying to bankrupt yourself of any respectability - lying to customers & the Regulator alike !!!

    :T
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

I think nickbirkins post will not support their defence!

I received the letter on Friday with a disconnection date of 19th December.Over the weekend I have tried to catch up on what has been written here.
Today I phoned the number on the letter to see if they would reinstate the free broadband and told him that I had heard they were doing that but he said no that was wrong information.

Phoned Ofcom and got reference number. Phoned orange exec and made complaint with reference number.
Do I now email my complaint to executive.office@everythingeverywhere.com to the name of the person I spoke to or to someone else?

  • Why are letters still being sent out to customers when I was informed by Orange CS that this letter had gone out in error. I do not understand their mentality. This letter is to provoke TROUBLE with a capital T. The different responses seem to me that the Company is a shambles internally with regard to communication. No court of law will buy Oranges story that they are sorting all this mess out to the satisfaction of the consumer/customer. There is no continuity what so ever. Totally agree with EVA49.

Eva there is no defence !!

Legal Team are playing "pass the ball" back...its the usual for a corporation, any ruling sets a precident, better to play childishly then & throw the facts out there in court when someone is not prepared, thats normal.

ANY legal challange to Orange regardless of nature usually gets the same treatment, I had them going round in circles arguing my points of law with the legal team until they backed down, & thus Orange kept my custom as I was free to leave, I choose to upgrade handset/contract to the new terms & conditions. I was not even going to leave, it was a matter of principle I did not need to take a change of terms if I did not want to, no one does & why any contract changes must be gave within 30 days leading to them changes, therefor any change of T&C is a reason to leave, financial detriment or otherwise, a change is a change and enough to cancel any agreement.

I did not threaten legal action from the word go, I offered O the chance to open dialogue to disapate any threat of legal action, but then I was not tied to a "disconnection" date.

Could it be to induce customers to call the number to correct them that they in fact DO have a mobile contract????

Do they no then have a captive audience to try and sell their land line package??

Could it be "reverse cold calling"??????????

I had that letter in August and was told it was a mistake......plenty of time to correct it was there not?
My first impression on skimming the email was that I was not eligible for free BB as I didn't have a current mobile contract! My immediate response was to call and correct them ....... "Come into my parlour said the spider to the fly"

Very clever letter I think - But maybe I am now biased in my opinion!?????????

    You can decide.

Maybe I should re-word that to "Argument" ......... we all know it is indefensible
  • Taken from EE's website:

it's all good news for you

As an Orange customer, you’re already using EE’s 3G network, the biggest in the UK, so you’ll see ‘EE’ on your device screen. EE will continue to invest to make it the best network in Britain, and it’s already 50% quicker for uploading photos and posting to Facebook than the Orange network was at the start of the year.
We’re investing in your high street too. We’re replacing your local Orange and T-Mobile stores with exciting new EE stores, giving you access to almost twice as many stores as today. These EE stores will be staffed by teams of brilliantly helpful people – including specialists in smartphones and systems like Apple, BlackBerry, Android and Microsoft.

Both Orange and T-Mobile are brand names both are operated by EE. We are all using the new EE network.

Should we all contact OFCOM again to state that the letters we have received were sent in error to deliberately cause us to panic. Initially I was in a flap until I found this forum but I think Orange as EVA49 says was a deliberate reverse cold call. I may call the excutive office to clarify why those letters are still being rolled out. For those going to court the evidence against Orange is mounting.
