Taken from EE's website:

it's all good news for you

As an Orange customer, you’re already using EE’s 3G network, the biggest in the UK, so you’ll see ‘EE’ on your device screen. EE will continue to invest to make it the best network in Britain, and it’s already 50% quicker for uploading photos and posting to Facebook than the Orange network was at the start of the year.
We’re investing in your high street too. We’re replacing your local Orange and T-Mobile stores with exciting new EE stores, giving you access to almost twice as many stores as today. These EE stores will be staffed by teams of brilliantly helpful people – including specialists in smartphones and systems like Apple, BlackBerry, Android and Microsoft.

Both Orange and T-Mobile are brand names both are operated by EE. We are all using the new EE network.

Should we all contact OFCOM again to state that the letters we have received were sent in error to deliberately cause us to panic. Initially I was in a flap until I found this forum but I think Orange as EVA49 says was a deliberate reverse cold call. I may call the excutive office to clarify why those letters are still being rolled out. For those going to court the evidence against Orange is mounting.

I never did receive a letter, just this email on 27th August

    Hello ANGELA

Right now you're enjoying our free home broadband. To qualify for free home broadband, you need to have an active Orange pay monthly mobile plan and you now also need to have Orange home line rental. Our records show that you no longer have an Orange pay monthly mobile plan registered at your address. So unfortunately we can't continue to offer you free broadband on your current plan.

it's easy to keep free broadband

Not to worry though, as an exclusive offer just for you, there is a way to keep your free broadband. Just take out a new Orange pay monthly mobile plan* (or confirm that you already have one at this address) and sign up to our free broadband plan with Orange home line rental**.

Our line rental will be only £14 a month, which is better than BT's standard rate of £14.60. Move your line rental to us before 17/10/2012 and we'll give you a discount on your first three months, making it just £11.50 a month.

    That's
line rental and FREE broadband for £11.50 a month for the first 3 months, then £14 a month afterwards. That's all you need to pay for your broadband and line rental.

we'll get it all sorted for you

Just give us a ring on
0800 294 4747 and we can have a chat about what will be best for you. Our lines are open 9am to 8pm weekdays and 10am to 7pm on weekends and bank holidays.

Just quote your special promotional code of FREE2012 when you call.

Please note that if we don't hear from you,
your broadband will stop working on 17/10/2012. To avoid this happening, we recommend you call as soon as possible.

We look forward to hearing from you.

SURELY NOT the same letter? - I was told it shouldn't have been sent due to the error!;)

I had a 'stay of execution' in a further email - like you I await resolution in writing *yawn* - requested twice now.

time is running out to keep your free

    Hi All,

So, although I have done the deal with Orange I still had my CISAS complaint in - after 8 weeks you are able to complain to them even if Orange do not issue you with a deadlock letter.

    I have had a response from them today ;

    Dear Mr Me

    Rejection Reference No: 15***

Thank you for your recent application to the above scheme. Unfortunately we are unable to

help you in this matter as your complaint concerns a business decision taken by the

company you are complaining about. Business decisions fall outside the scope of our

scheme and we have no power to deal a complaint of this nature.

We suggest you contact your local Citizen’s Advice Bureau who may be able to advise you

    how to pursue your complaint.

We are sorry we cannot be of further assistance on this occasion.

    Yours sincerely

    Blah Blah

    I have emailed back ;

I find this hard to believe, are you telling me that it was a business
decision by Orange to `miss - sell` to me ?

It seems that it is not worth relying on CISAS to seek justice if needs be.

On another thought, I got this emailed to me by BT today, they have increased a package to 12 months half price ! this would have been my prefered option if Oranged had not backed down in my case but each to their own.

For the record I had a one off payment of £250 agreed by Orange by way of a `sorry` for all the aggravation over this stupid situation.

It seems that they are as said not just making a blanket offer of free bb until end of mobile contract, lord knows how they can justify that but clearly if they have done this for some so they should do it for all.

    Here to help.

    Nobby.

Eva, just wondering how staff on staff discounted consumer/squirrel/fox (etc)mobile plans that had FREE broadband are being treated ?

Would that not be a breach of terms of both broadband and employee contract ?

All the above having been said, one of our forum members - having issued Court proceedings - Orange have acknowledged service! Which would indicate at this moment, they intend to defend!
Unless of course there is an 11th hour back-down/out of Court settlement.

I cannot believe the inconsistency in handling individual cases within such a huge corporation!
    Utterly crazy!
Crazt indeed! I gave Executive Office another call this afternoon, and I have to say that it was the most pleasant contact that I have had so far.

Having already issued summons, and with both my and my wifes mobile accounts involved, they want to look again at our situation (we moved to Plusnet just before the backtracks started to occur). We have now suggested that we will drop roceedings if they cancel both mobile contracts, compensate for the court costs, alternative BB supplier, and stress. Callback due sometime this week, and if not resolved, that's it, court case continues :D
