Orange;
Mobile £30.00 ish
Line rental and BB £13.00 ish
Total £43.00 ish
Same sort of packages with other providers
Mobile £13.00 plus
Line rental £13.00 plus
BB £8.50
Total £34.00 ish
Also Icecube,(Orange flavoured Icecube?) if you'd read the thread then you'd see, most folk here are annoyed because they renewed mobile contracts, some within the last month on the basis of the free broadband and are trapped until renewal.
What I don't understand is why so many people seem to be paying £30+ for their mobile contract. One good thing about Orange is their 'loyalty' (I know, I know:)) offers. I am currently on Raccoon 25, for which I am paying £16 a month plus get extra 200 mobile mins / 5 MMS messages / 1GB Data. So my situation is this: £16 a month for mobile / £14 a month for land line / £0 a month for BB = £30 a month.
Sounds all right to me0 -
Which is a good deal for you Benno1uk until you get the letter in a months time to tell you that they're withdrawing your free broadband....0

RE Fitz^
As far as the contracts not being "joint", Orange may argue not but a upgrade where a customer is not told the BB is being removed will be deemed by most judges as one contract cannot exist without the other & removal of one service dependent on the other is detrimental.
They cases will shame Orange.
I am happy to see such actions taken against Orange.
Imagine a ESA claimant with BT Basic & a Orange mobile with FREE broadband....
Moving broadband at cost then add a contract easily beaten by sim only.... that's a right royal shafting to a Orange customer.
BT Basic customers forced to Orange Line Rental are massively out of pocket on all counts & as such it can be the difference of having or not having broadband, free £14 broadband or no broadband, are Orange going to give these customers Orange Basic at a loss ?
Thought not....SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -

I had my letter this morning.
I'm going to rent my line from Orange and keep receiving free broadband. I've read lots of posts on different sites and I don't understand why people are getting in such a lather about it. You already rent your line (from someone) and don't pay for broadband. Nothing changes only who you rent your line from.
If you change broadband providers you'll still have to pay line rental and then have to pay a monthly fee for your broadband.
If you're happy with the service stay with Orange!!!!
..
Because i started line rental saver with BT a week before Orange informed me they want to move the goal posts. With Line Rental saver from BT my line and BB was costing me a total of £10.75 per month. Orange want £14 per month for the same thing. So my free broadband is now costing £3.25 and also my free unlimited calls with BT costing £2.90 per month will also be lost... which i can have with Orange if i pay an Extra £4.50...
So these so called amazing offers would cost me an extra £4.35 a month, £52 a year, or £78.30 over the 18 month contract they are so lovingly offering me. But considering i already pay for my Free Broadband within my mobile contract, a contract which has already been increased by 4.2%... i feel i have every right to be a little annoyed, dont you?
And this is all totally irrelevant as to move my line to Orange would mean i would lost my advanced payment from BT of £129 for 12 months rental. Is that a better reason? So total cost of moving = £207.30........ but its still free... I THINK NOT!0 -

200 minutes a month is fine if you only use your mobile to call your nan once a week...
Some of us use slightly more.0 -
All the front end staff are again aware of the shi* Orange has left them in, spoke to local store who has had lots of people they sold both products to in complaining...they customers are to be forwarded to 150 to discuss (which you all know to be hopeless on the issue).SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... Just recieved my letter from Orange today with a cut off date for Broadband and 2nd phone line of 12 November.
I was not aware of this change in terms and was glad I read this thread BEFORE deciding what to do.
Orange's "exclusive" offer of £14 line rental with 3 months at £11.50 is poor. I'm currently with PostOffice Homephone with Line Rental (including FREE evening and Weekend Calls for £13.25 per month). So Orange's "offer" will actually cost me more money.
Like most other people on here I checked when I renewed my mobile phone contract that I would continue to get FREE Broadband. I renewed at an ORANGE shop so as far as I'm concerned they have broken their deal with me.
Unless they change tact very quickly I shall be closing all my accounts with Orange - I'm almost out of contract anyway so they will not only not get my line rental they will lose their £30+ from me every month.
The future's bright Orange will lose my custom FOR LIFE and I shall certainly not be changing my terms and conditions. They have lost a customer who has been with them for years:p
Good luck to everyone fighting their case - I wish you well. Off to research best deals elsewhere.0 -
i'm a bt basic customer, and got free broadband with my orange mobile,i have told this to orange and all they wanted was to sign me up to there line rental telling me what a good deal it was, have complained with ofcom ref number and like most here still waiting for the promised call0
