I say starting, obviously I mean restarting, I think this will be the fourth go! do you like your new shoes? I chose my running shoes by going into sports direct and finding a pair for nine quid that said ' Nike running' on the sole lol x x

Agree our scan showed fine 12 hours later a was rushed into Emergency unit.

Team Lowe Big Hugs :A:A
Firefly great words.:D
I start running tomorrow so fingers crossed that will help the clouds blow away xxx:o:o:o
Yeah if I had had a scan at about 6-7 or possibly even 8 weeks we would have seen a heart beat as baby got to 8 + 4 weeks growth. So it would have not meant anything. So I think I would still like to get a scan at about 9 weeks but only so that incase something has happened by then, there isn't such a big gap until the 12 week one.
I read a lot of statistics about once there's a heart best it pretty much means its ok but I don't know where that comes from as I also keep hearing experiences of the complete opposite. So I guess as long as you protect yourself by knowing a scan can't predict the future then there's no harm in an early scan if you've had previous problems, or you get bleeding or cramping. Otherwise I don't really see the point as chances are everything will be ok ( and obviously I'm saying this as someone for who it was not all ok) .0 -

I think that was what made our third mc such a shock was that we'd had two early scans that were really positive, lovely stong heartbeat and nothing had changed since- no bleeding or lessening of symptoms but no flicker on the screen at 12 weeks and I was totally unprepared for it. I feel now that it doesn't matter how many scans you get (needed or otherwise) there isnt ever a guarantee. But its not so common I know that but it doesn't really help when its you who's unlucky.0 -
Sorry for being a misery guts, I didn't realise how cynical I'd become! Of course we will all have beautiful healthy babies in our arms this year so my above post will be moot :-) I'm looking forward to it!0

angeltreats wrote: »Tink - good luck with the running. I used to run a lot and it really is the most addictive exercise you can do, and I think it keeps the weight off better than any diet or other exercise. Let us know how you get on. There is a running club in my town and I'd like to join but I'm scared of not being able to keep up, so my plan is to take a few months to improve my fitness and then go along.
Thank you Firefly for some very wise words, and hugs to TeamLowe. I know you will get there eventually.
Hey I dont know if you know about parkrun, its a run held all around the country once a week on the weekends, normally Saturdays. You register on their website and get a number and barcode and when you run you get your time texted to you. Its a 5K run which sounds alot but as lots of people of all ages, fitness and experience go, they all spur you on. The first time I went I walked most of it and slow jogging a little at the start.MFW 2016 No 68 £1300/£8500 No new toiletries Cook sth different0 -
Thanks Skaps - I did hear about Parkrun actually and I'd quite like to go but the nearest one to me is about 12 miles away and we're really trying to limit how much we're spending on petrol at the minute. I'll really have to go along one Saturday though. I should still be able to manage 5k I think, albeit pretty slowly, but I looked at the results and there are people who took up to 45 minutes so at least I wouldn't be last
I was one of the slowest in my old running club even though I used to run approx 9 minute miles so always worried about being last in the club races! :rotfl:
