    Good morning folks:wave:

    secretdebts, you are really CD105:shocked:
I had you on the list until a couple of days ago, but thought you can't be CD10?:o
    Any sign of ov?
purcy, it depends on how long your cycles are. CBFM asks to test from CD6 if you are an early ov'er and CD9 if you are later ov'er.
What I do (irregular cycles) is test when I think ov is coming near:D
Gemmzie, (((hugs))) re your school friend getting pg before you. You have to catch up!:j
As for smears, yes I do get them regularly. It is difficult to find the right date for me as my cycles are very irregular. Last one was last year (Aug) and it was CD4 or something:o
Squirrels, hope you don't get AF:cool:
    abis, (((hugs))). How are you?
PommeVerte, didn't know about toxins. Maybe I should cry more often to detox:p
mrsj28, no I don't see any reason to wait. Some say you are more fertile as all the hormones were geared up for pg.
TeamLowe, I love those phantom semens:rotfl:
And :rotfl: for dressing behind a curtain at the doctors:D
  • Morning gang.

Seriously considering putting the heating on as it's so blooming cold in my flat today

Just been reading the chat about smears and embarassment etc. Believe me, when you guys get preggo and have to be examined every which way, you'll soon get over your embarssment! I always worried about stuff like that, but I've been poked and prodded so many times with various proceedures, I now just see my ladybits as an arm or leg!

I always think as long as you're a nice clean person, there's nothing to worry about. A Dr friend of mine once told me about his stint in the STD clinic whilst he was training, and said honestly some of the disgusting states people let themselves get into is just horrendous.

He said that often parts were so swollen etc, you couldn't tell by looking at them if they were male or female!:eek::eek:

How am I going to get to heaven?,

  • nb - I am going to test tomorrow, and I'm already nervous!

Tried to persuade OH to buy me a FR test today, but he told me off as we are trying to save money this month and said I was to make do with the tests I already have! :o

    Ladies,

Very quickly....can large amounts of sugar/fat/carbs delay ovulation?

Metranil - Good luck for tomorrow :)

Morning chatty ladies! So glad it's Friday! :j

Enjoyed catching up with last nights chat, you girls make me laugh. :)

Hope you're feeling better Abis, there's nothing worse than feeling sad and lonely :(

Nice to see you pop back in Secretdebts, to being CD105 though! Are you seeing the doctor about bringing AF on?

Good luck for testing tomorrow MV!

I used to be mortified about getting my bits out for a smear, but I'd had 4 now (3 of them before the 'Happy 25th Birthday, now let us look at your foof' letter arrived!) so I don't really care any more. I kept having them as I felt really odd and uncomfortable inside and it took 2 nurses then a doctor to realise that it was cervical erosion, I was so glad it finally got sorted and I felt normal again, I felt so sorry for my poor little abused cervix though! :o I do find the whole stripping off behind a curtain and siting with a scrap of paper over my lap for them to come in, shove the paper up and ask you to open wide a bit weird though. My Mum hates the paper so much she doesn't even bother with it, she's like that when she goes for a wax too! :rotfl: I'm not quite at that stage yet! ;)

I'm guessing/hoping that the whole being totally comfortable with one's nude body in communal changing rooms etc comes with age and/or babies. I play badminton twice a week with a bunch from work and either have to run into the shower first or wait until they're all finished as I don't want my colleagues to see me in the nip (and I don't really want to see them either!). Had a shock last week as I was in the shower area drying off and one of the ladies walked in starkers and started showing next to me chattering away, I quickly whipped my towel round me and scuttled off so quickly I almost slipped as my feet were still soaking! :o

And in happy news, I'm now on the 50-day countdown to my holiday! :j I'm trying to tell myself that it's not *that* long to wait even though it's still ages! :)

MV, swollen so they can't tell if one's male or female?
Well done on your DH re hpts:money: You can get a digi once you get a tlp:cool:
lilymay, yes, large amounts of fat can delay ov, as body fat makes testosterone which interferes with ovulation or something like that.
Birdie, I don't mind changing in front of strangers, but don't like doing it when there's someone I know:o
Where are you going on your holiday?:)

Fat cells produce estrogen which can stop you ovulating (and is the reason fat men get moobs), but i don't know about what you eat having an effect. however, eating a healthy diet can't ever be a bad thing :)

I know QQ has experimented with not eating sugar in the first half of the cycle but i thought that was for the PCOS insulin resistance business x x

    Thanks very much ladies!

I'm wondering if my diet has been the reason I have been ov'ing quite late. I tend to snack of a lot of naught foods and although I'm not fat, the sugar is still entering my body!

I've been really careful this month with what i've been eating so mayve thats why Ive ov'ed earlier?

As you said Teamlowe - it's Worth keeping up the healthy diet anyway :)

Oh I absolutely hate getting changed in front of people I know, and especially communal showers (in fact I just refuse to have them, I would rather go home smelly and shower there). I won't even go swimming with my friend as I don't want to have to get changed in front of her! Daft I know, and the weird thing is that I'm not even prudish, I'll go topless on holiday and so on, and I don't care at all when it's strangers. Silly girl.

I'm 5 DPO so really far too early to see any symptoms, but I've just watched yesterday's Renovation Game on 4OD (have the day off work so I can be in for a delivery) and absolutely bawled my eyes out at the end. Wonder if I'm a bit hormonal... or alternatively just a bit pathetic :D

Weird thing... as this is my first month of charting I'm not used to what my BBT is like at various points of the month, but I expected that it would level out after ovulation. Instead it is still climbing. Is this normal?

LilyMay - I think that's right, especially refined sugars/carbs. I know you don't have PCOS, but a low GI diet is often recommended to help people with PCOS, because it can encourage earlier ovulation (I might be spouting carp here, maybe check with a Doctor.... like Abis for example?! :rotfl:) The book I've been reading called 'Fit for Fertility' has a really good section on diet, and I think it does make a big difference.

As TeamLowe says - a healthy diet cannot hurt!

Also, question (for LilyMay), I've been wanting to ask for ages but don't want to sound like I'm challenging a fertility specialist's opinion! I know the FS said you aren't ovulating, but was that purely based on the CD21 bloods you had done? I am amazed... especially if you OV on about CD21, your progesterone levels won't be high enough. I had CD21 bloods done and the prog levels were really really low, but the GP said that doesn't mean I'm not ovulating, possibly just ovulating late. You have such regular cycles I'd be amazed if you weren't ovulating.

Anyway, like I said, I don't want to sound like I'm challenging the FS, just interested and confused as to what results they are basing the opinion on that you aren't ovulating......
