No doubt it will be to get such a good deal, but personally I have never had any problems with CPW - clear instructions (once you get them to email them to you by requesting through the website - I have not once had them sent automatically!), prompt processing and payment. This is with CPW not their (allegedly not so trustworthy) ugly sister companies e2save, OSPS or mobiles.co.uk.

Anyone been in retentions discussions with CPW O2 recently? Been a while since anyone posted some hard evidence of their success! Calling them this week as my contract's a month from expiry.

Current contract about to expire is the £35 pm 18 month tariff - 600 mins (+ free 200 min bolt-on), 1000 texts - £200 cashback every 6 months working out as £1.67 pm. Had to keep the old phone which was fine.

Can't see myself getting even close to this again. What do you think?
  • MJTHFC hurry up & ring please!! i want to see what they offer you ! .... I'm on exactly the same deal as you .

Last posts i could see on here seemed to say the £600 had dropped to £540 or £500

I phoned a few days ago and was offerred £420 cashback ... he was very insistent that was the best deal .
I was just waiting a few days before trying again . .. so you go first !!

In fairness .. it netts out at about £11 a month which to be fair is a bargain for such a tariff .

I'd looked at all the new cashback deals and about £9 to £12 was the sort of nett deal from the good retailers .... i'll end up accepting the £11 to stay on my existing deal if i need to .
  • I have my O2 contract through the carphone warehouse which ran out last July - I have telephoned a couple times since the contract ended to see what sort of upgrade I could get. I was looking at the iphone 3GS but was offered something different and so haven't renewed the contract as yet. Into the new year now I have decided that I definitely want the iphone but I still assume O2/Carphone warehouse arent going to give me an upgrade. I phoned O2 to get my PAC number - I was told to write in to give notice which I have now done. I have received the PAC No. from O2 but was wondering if I should wait to hear from O2/Carphone Warehouse retentions dept - will I hear from them or is it better to get in contact with them. After receiving your PAC No. when do you hear from them?

Guys, can anyone PM me the number for the contact at O2 CPW please?

  • no it was not a cashback deal.

i actually went to higher order retentions dept. this is not the normal retentions dept. but somehow i got transfered. then i spoke to a lovely man who asked me what phone i wanted..

i said n97 mini.. as CPW sell these it was possible to get it..

and then he looked at my previous spendings with o2 and saw that i was on a 35 tariff but used to spend more most months and thus offered me this sensational deal..

to be honest it was a fantastic deal.... i guess they do this once in a while to keep customers.!

    Hello Penny!

I've been struck down with man-flu along with being snowed under at work and just haven't managed to find the time to speak to them yet.

Really quiet thread - used to be buzzing in previous years! Have people moved away from CPW O2? I've always had great deals out of them but it looks like the deals aren't so great any more.

£11p/m that you were offered is nowhere near as good as what I'm on now. Have you spoken to them since your original post?

I'm not sure when but for some time now CPW stopped being an o2 service provider where they sell the contracts and handle the billing. They do still sell o2 contracts but these are directly with o2 so CPW o2 would not be dealing with the upgrades, so they have a diminishing number of customers.

Also nearly all mobile contracts don't offer as much value as they did a couple of years ago.
