By the way another tip for anyone out there. The CPW outbound guy told me that "sometimes" they forget to put in the Redemption slips with the upgrades.

If you don't get one pop into your local CPW store and they will give you a hard copy or you can download a pdf version from their site.

You don't have to send them with the bill. You can send just the bill if you want - thats fine by them. Their leaflets don't mention anything about remdemption slips either.

Just to follow up on an earlier posting I made, ref 11 months free on a 12 month contract - my 02 contract arrived today with no mention of the cashback. I called CPW and they confirmed that the cashback was there, but thankfully I queried the amount and it turns out they were crediting back only £391 - not £440 which would have been 11 months.

I spoke to 3 different people - all helpful - who confirmed this was a mistake and easily made. Apparently tariffs up to £35 a month get 11 months free, but once you go over this (ie to £40) then it doesn't quite equal 11 months free. I honestly believe it was a genuine mistake, but I wouldn't like to have tried to sort it out a year down the line!

I'm waiting for a call back to advise what will happen!

Not sure if it was on ure invoice when you got ure new deal but mine says £300 cashback.

Might only be on invoices where you get an actual handset though

Mine doesn't have cashback written on the invoice either but I have it in writing in email detailing the offer

No new phone, or new sim card, as I am just extending my existing contract - so the sim in my phone will cotninue to work...it's just a paper exercise.

    Which tariff are you on?

If you are on a £35 tariff, then 12 X £35 =£420. 11 months free means £385 cashback and £35 is what you effectively have paid CPW by the end of your contract.

I went for the £40 a month tariff - 500 mins per month...hence I should have got £440 back on 11 months free. What happened is that the salesman said it was 11 months free, because he assumed it was, but actually it isn't!

I should never have been offered 11 months free on 12 month contract on £40 per month because it doesn't exist.

Latest update is that they have acknowledged their error and are honouring the verbal contract by giving me an extra £50 credit on my account. This is because I was getting back £390 cashback - so the extra £50 makes it £440.

Just to compound everything I got a letter thanking me for extending my contract and giving me £75 - no mentin of cashback at all! Needless to say I called them and they apologised saying there was a problem with their mailing system...and to ignore it.

I am stilll wiating for confirmation of my cashback and am assured it will arrive by post by Wednesday.

Yes, the MOST important thing to remember is to get it confirmed in writing. That way they can't deny it later otherwise you will be stressing later when you have to go and chase them up if they don't pay or their system says blah blah blah as most advisors put it.

I have a month left on a price match contract with Carphone Warwhouse on O2. It is £25.00 per month for 100 minutes & 100 texts which is more than enough for me. I have so far received all my cash back with just the last £100 to claim back when I get the next bill, and have never gone over my free minutes so have paid nothing except 99p a month for itemised billing. I have now taken a contract out with 3 mobile via quidco getting £70 cash back from them and 3 were also giving £50 off at the time, I also got £30 for refer a friend so it will cost me £6.66 per month for the 18 months

I phoned Carphone Warehouse to give the 30 days notice. I was offered the L400 tarriff for £8.50 per month & they would credit my account with £100, that would leave me paying just £2 for the 12 month deal. I declined this offer because I do not need any more minutes. I them wrote to the address that they gave me with my cancellation No, The day after I sent he letter they rang me and then offered me 50 anytime X network minutes for 12 months for nothing, I can't see what they have to gain because I spend nothing over my minutes but I accepted that and my husband can use the sim card in his phone. He is on PAYG at the moment and hardly uses it at all
