Update: Looks like they have also offered 500 SMS per month for the first 6 months as well in addition to the offer they offered. I noticed it today in my online account but I never asked them so I'll wait on that a little later and then check the bill when it becomes available.

I have had the last year a £20.99 a month tariff (1000 min off peak, 25 min x-net and 100 txt) although with this being for my daughter the monthly bill regularly goes to about £40-60. This was supposed to be a cashback deal but havent had any success getting it (a long story, no fault of mine.

Phoned them up the other day to cancel the contract (putting kids onto t-mobile flext 35) and was offered the shine phone (what she wants) with 600 mins x-net anytime and 500 txts for £35 a month with £180 cashback over 18 months. Refused due to being cashback.

Phoned today spoke to someone else and was offered same minutes and texts deal for 18 months but with £250 cashback. Explained all my problems with previous cashback etc and he admitted to me that he could see the notes on screen about me not having received me cheque backs and gave me an address to write to which is HLC (higher level complaints) as he said it hadnt been looked into properly and they should have paid my money.

So being unhappy with any sort of cashback deal he then said if i waited until the 1st May they are then going to be able to offer the same sort of deals as o2 direct where they can knock the tariff down instead of having to claim cashback. So the second offer of £250 cashback at £35 month would just be £21.11 without any cashback hassle.

I also expressed an interest in the Nokia N95 and was told i could have that for a handset price of £23 and instead of the normal minimum monthly contract price of £50 i could have it on a £35 a month. I have requested my contract is ended and need to send in writing but in the meantime the man is going to give me a call the first week of May so that he can offer a deal without the cashback hassle. Sorry if ive rambled.

    Hey guys.
I called last week to cancel my contract after it expired and they(cpw02) offered me:
    250xnet anytime mins
    100txts
    £30pm
    11months free on 12month contract

I agreed to it and they said i was going to get the paper work in the post for the cashback and i never got it(read here for fully story http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=426916).

Anyways, i was just wondering for those of you who were also offered a cashback deal were told that you did not require cashback vouchers to claim, just the bill needed to be sent in? im confused as on the cpw site they have vouchers but on the phone they tell me i just need to send the bill in.

oh and ka7e, i am in the same situation. i need my last bill for cashback with osps but it will show the new tarriff..

They have offered me the K800i for £25/month with 200 anytime minutes and texts. Plus £200 cashback. It is on an 18 month contract.

This seems as good as I will get.
Hark at you going all strict :D

You would normally have 2 options:

    1. Send bills back to CPW and you should get a decent cashback deal. You send bills back in in months 4,8 and 12 for 12 month contract and months 6,12 and 18 for 18 month contract.

    2. Automatic cashback - no need to send bills but cashback deal won't be as attractive as 1st option.

They would normally advise you what method you prefer, if not, you can ask them. :)

I was under the impression that all CPW retention deals were automatic cheque-backs and not cash-backs implying no need to send in anything. I just confirmed this for an O2/CPW upgrade I did in January this year.

No, as stated before, they have 2 options that they offer to customers.

I recently upgraded my phone with CPW and I have to send my bills in months 4,8 and 12.

Others have have opted automatic cashback where you don't need to send any bills - you get the cash automatically in your bank account.

Personally, I went for the sending bills option simply because if I had gone with the automatic cashback option, I was offered only £250 cashback and if I chose sending bills option, I get £300.

Obviously, for £50 extra most people would automatically go for the latter. :)

I think they have changed the upgrade cashback terms since I last dealt with them in January as they did not give me an option to select the cashback method when I upgraded. The only method was by auto cheque-back whereby they send me a cheque at months 4 and 10 of my contract.

Gam3r - CPW emailed me to say "It doesn't matter that the 12th bill is on the new tariff, you can still send it in".
"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.
