I have been offered the following 18 month retention deal by CPW, without a new handset:

    £35 per month
600mins 1000sms - + Loyalty promo of an additional 200mins (anytime, any network)
Bolt ons - ITS, VM, Itemised Billing free (upon request)
    Redemption - £600, £200 each at months 6, 12 and 18
Therefore the monthly cost would equate to £1.67

    How does that sound?

I just got the same deal, although I went for Free Internet as a loyalty promo rather than 200mins extra talktime. (The Free internet starts 2 months later.)

It took a little bit of discussions, and we went through a few options first, before this was offered to me.

The good thing about the cashback is that you can claim when ever, as long as you have the 6, 12 and 18 month bills. No requirements for 30 days after bill or anything like that.

Don't quote me on this, but I think they said that you have to send the bills within 60 days of their issue date.

I remember he specifically said I could send all 3 bills in 18 months time if I wanted, and then they would send the £600.

In reality I will send the required bills as soon as they are received. I want to get the money back as soon as possible!

I got £35/month on 12 month contract and £420 cashback. No new phone....

    therefore: £0/month
All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy.

That does not sound right to me. The guy I spoke to did mention that there was a 60 day window and if I were you I would adhere to that.

By the way folks, in the end I did cancel my two contracts instead of taking up the offer. The reason being that CPW would not write the offer down in the way that would be acceptable to me. Call me old fashioned but for me it is absolutely not acceptable for full terms and conditions not to be presented to me before I agree to take up any offer.

I was told with my offer on the phone I had 7 days to cancel and that I would receive all the documentation in the post.

Going by many other comments on here, I wonder if that will really happen...

Dude you missed out, I never bother with t&c, I just ring up about 4 days later asking about something but then also get the CS rep to repeat my offer

I'll do this 7-8 days later aswell. And if they all give me the same offer it's perfectly fine.

You should have stayed with CPW as other networks simply don't offer you the same deals. Orange didn't even bother ringing to keep me and 3? Well three make you jump through a million hoops, just to get the £5/month deal - and even then it's not guaranteed.

With CPW they always offer me a virtually free deal very early. I know CPW is not for everyone but it is in my opinion the best network in terms of value for money.

I was told that I had 14 days to cancel and that the detail would follow in the post. I did not receive written confirmation. Also, I was told that my existing contracts would run to their natural conclusion before the new contracts started. I was alarmed when I rang them on the general number a few days later only to discover that the new contracts had started and that in fact I was well into the 14 day cooling off period, and I didn't actually know it. I was even more alarmed when I spoke to the retentions guy who had offered me the deal and he intimated to me that CPW were so multi-faceted that I could not expect one part of it to know what the other was doing.

As long as you are happy and confident that it will happen as you were told it will, then that's good.

For myself, I like things written down because I maintain that it is easier to rectify a contract before it starts than it is once it has started. If a company will not write its offer down on paper in full detail, then I am suspicious of it. I told the retentions guy that if it did not come in written form then I would revoke it. It didn't come in written form, and so true to my word, I revoked it.

Why didnt you do what I and a few others did? Email CPW and ask them to clarify in details the T&C's of the contract?

Both emails I sent where answered with 24hrs and so I have all the written evidence I need.

In fact, I emailed them again to cancel my 400min/500text deal. When I got a call back, I tried to squeeze a free phone out of them but they couldn't do it.

I asked for 600mins and 500 texts instead and he upgraded (£40 per month, £480 cash back deal, 12 months).

Call them back, they'll re-instate the offer, maybe even give you a better one!
