CPW O2 Retentions Thread

As a Virgin Media Customer I can get a sIM only deal with 300 mins and 300 txts for £10 per month. CPW (E2Save) retentions called me a couple of times and were awful. One told me she would offer me a deal and I could take it there and then or lose it as a low user (have 200 mins and 200 texts on contract and never run over) I wouldn't get much so I told her I'd lose it! Another offered me a worse deal than available on their website on the grounds I could keep my number; he was stunned when I said I would port to PAYG and then port back if I was that desperate. I rang Customer services and asked straight out for a PAC code. This got me through to customer Loyalty who have given me 600 mins and 1000 texts for 18 months at £10 per month. No cashback but a discount applied on the bill. This suits me as the cashback claim turnarounds and hassle have gotten worse over the last 2 years and I want something I can use and forget about. Just need a new handset now.0

I got a phone from CPW last year on March 2nd, I received a bill dated 12 March and then round that date every month. I claimed the cashback successfully in June 07, October 07 and February 08.
I got a retentions deal when I called on 2nd February, eventually got a letter (after several calls) confirming the details. The upgrade date was 18th February although my billing date remains the 12th of the month. My assumption has been that as my last claim was in February (bill 12) for the final £110 on the last deal I will claim for the next one in June again. Can someone confirm that for me please?0 -
Been offered this after some bartering, although I'm on an Online O2 contract now CPW:
Sony Ericsson W980i - FREE
18 Months
600 minutes
1000 texts
Unlimited Internet
£25 for first 9 months
£35 thereafter
Average = £30 PM = £540
They've matched as much as I can throw at them from Vodafone without a credit check or PAC number moving as well! Even Quidco £90 cashback which is what they've taken off!
Only concern is that it's a returned handset, but I generally don't have a problem with that. Generally...

Hi,
Have just spoken to CPW/02 and been offered the 600mins 1000 texts and free bolt on for either £15 month on 18 month or £10 month on 24 month contract no cashback or redemption, just a straight discount applied to my bill.
Happy enough with that, with the money I am saving can buy a nice new handset if i want to!0 -
The refurbished phone I have received today doesn't have much in the box apart from the phone and charger - no headphones!
It's also a bit scuffed at the back as well. My main annoyance is they've chucked in a Sony 1GB M2 card which the phone DOES NOT TAKE and didn't tell me a refurb wouldn't come with bundled headphones!
I rang them up and they just knocked it right back at me even though they didn't mention anything more than "they're just phones people don't like the look of" when they offered me a cashback discount.
What's my next move from here?0 -

My advice would be to return the handset and either cancel the contract or take out a sim only deal. You have 14 days to do this even with an upgrade. I would say take out a Sim only contract and use the spare cash to buy either a brand new handset or one from Ebay. I was offerered the same deal as you for £15 a month sim only, £270 over 18 months, leaving you £270 for a new handset.
Hope this helps.0 -
