My hubby has a ring, he wore it for a few years and now it stuck in a drawer. He said it catches on stuff. I dont mind either way. I wear mine out the house but take it off when Im home.0

Although strictly speaking it is jewellery I don't think of it like that. Probably as it's permanently there and I think of jewellery as something that changes or don't wear at all.
I don't know really, as I said, my wedding ring is on and off my finger every day. But my watch I only take off when I'm around water, I wear a bracelet that I never take off, and I wear earrings which only come out for cleaning then go back in my ears again. I think its because its a ring, so it can feel more restrictive somehow (I don't wear any rings in the house). I don't tend to feel the other jewellery when I'm wearing it, but I feel the rings, especially in extremes of heat and cold.0 -
When I got married my DH wasn't fussed about wearing a ring. He doesn't wear jewellery other than a watch and didn't know how he'd feel about wearing a ring as he knew he'd play with it all the time. We still got a nice ring for the cermemony and agreed that he'd try to wear it whenever he wore his watch (i.e. not playing sport, doing DIY or at work!) and that worked for him. He's actually become very attached to it now and only takes it off for bed.
I wasn't that bothered either way really, but it is nice to see that he proudly wears his wedding ring now.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

He got married in Westminster Abbey so one would assume he was married according to the 17th century prayer book 'The Solemnisation of Matrimony' service, which has no provision for exchange of rings. The bride's ring is blessed 'he who gives it and she who wears it' and the groom puts it on her finger with the words 'With this ring I thee wed...'
Those who watched the whole of the royal wedding on TV may be able to verify that this was indeed the case.
I agree with TorryQuine - a wedding ring is not 'jewellery' i.e. it's not decorative, it means something different from just 'bling'.
I've been married twice, the first time under the old prayer book as quoted above, the second time by the modern service in the Methodist Church which uses today's language and has provision for exchange of rings from one to the other. DH never takes his ring off, and in hospital, they were sensitive about it and taped it, not asked for it to be taken off.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

My Dad didn't wear a wedding ring, he had one which snapped when he caught it on machinery at work and was never worn again.
My mother wore her ring from the day she was married and never took it off until she left my Dad. She also had two engagement rings because she couldn't make up her mind which one she liked so Dad bought her both (typical Dad). She lost one of them fairly early on. Strangely when I was looking through paperwork after Dad died, I found the receipt for those engagement rings. Thirteen pounds and thirteen shillings. I'm getting married next year and have spoken with my fiance about it a few times. He is a manual worker and deals with some fairly nasty chemicals on a daily basis and is concerned more about it getting ruined than he is about injury!
We have agreed that he will not wear a ring during work but will still have a ring that he will wear at all other times. I didn't think he would want to wear one as he has never worn anything other than an occasional watch but he says he does want to and although I hadn't said anything, I would have liked him to wear one.
Very happily married on 10th April 2013

Sounds like thumb screws were tightened the way that is worded, lol.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

my husband had a ring he wore all the time when we got married and then stopped wearing it cos it gottoo tight, its still in a drawer somewhere.
i have never taken my engagement or wedding rings off except when i lost a stone out my engagemant ring. i wanted it mending but as it was only a cheap one it was going to cos more to mend than it cos in first place so i had a new one instead. i hated that for a week i only had one ring on while my new one was resized. i have considered getting hubbys made smaller so i can wear it lolHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0 -
If it bothers you that much you need to tell him.
My DH works with machinery and does a lot of diy and has never caught it in 9 years and wears it every day. If he is that worried he can always take it off before doing gardening etc or even put a plaster over it.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -

You are not guaranteed to have an accident if you wear a ring. However, the chances of having a nasty accident increase significantly.0
