    Hi,

    I visited London Zoo on the weekend with the 2 for 1 offer in hand.

    I purchased Any-time Single tickets from Vauxhall to Waterloo for £2.20 each as advised by another user. I purchased the tickets on-line, but collected it from the Luton station before i set off.

    Once at the Zoo I went to the ticket desk and asked for 3 adult tickets and 1 child ticket. I presented my voucher to the advisor who then asked if i had a valid train ticket I said, "Yes" I placed the tickets on the counter, but she continued printing the tickets. I put the tickets back in my pocket.

    The ticket were not even checked!!

    I made a saving of about £30.

    A great offer and a even better loophole.

    Hi,

    Good for you! You're supposed to have valid tickets - apparently they trusted you did, so they didn't feel the need to check them.
    I wouldn't rely on not having my tickets checked though - I'd better spend a few quid and save 20 than embarrass myself and be denied discounted entry. :wink:

    Yes, the couple in front of us at the Tower of London ticket office a while back attempted to make use of the offer by producing the coupon, but when challenged to produce the accompanying rail tickets couldn't, and so ended up paying an extra £17.50 !

    Last Wednesday I purchased 2 x adult £2.30 single rail tickets to my next station with underground interchange (both my daughter & I have free or student travel). Presented tickets with voucher at London zoo - accepted no problem as they had the 'logo' so 2 for 1 - great deal.
    (Vouchers can be downloaded or rail station had 2 for 1 booklet)

    does anyone know - I am going tomorrow and have a train ticket which is fine, my daughter is only 4 so doesnt need one. Will she need a train ticket to use the 2 for 1 voucher? if so will get a single jouney thing as suggested above.

    From the 2 for 1 website;
    How many train tickets are required per voucher?
    Whilst you will only have one London Attractions voucher between 2 people, both people need to hold valid train tickets for the day of their visit
    Whether the attraction would enforce this for a 4 year old is unknown, might be worth you getting that extra ticket or a travelcard if you need to travel across London.

    But remember the Travelcard for yourself will give unlimited travel on TfL (4 yr old travels free) and then you will have two sets of tickets (originals to London and travelcard) to show to the attraction ticket seller. Just make sure you buy the travelcard from any National rail station not underground station, so to get the crow's foot logo on the ticket.

    Thank you for your reply -livingthedream I have just telephoned the zoo for clarification - I'll still be able to use the voucher without a train ticket for my 4 year old. It may or may not be the same at the other attractions on the 2 for 1 days out site but its worth checking to ask! Saved me £2 odd anyway not havign to get her any ticket!
