We have advance train tix from Bath to Paddington on a Saturday
You are going back to Bath? and if you are? by train with advance tickets?p00hsticks wrote: »..... but I guess it's down to how individuals interpret it....
Every time I've used the deal in London (every year for past 3) the person in the event ticket booth just has a brief look at the ticket and IMHO I think they just look at the dates/Railway 'crows foot' Logo, as to types of ticket I don't think there interested or know the difference.
If I've caused offence by saying an event ticket seller doesn't know their Advance ticket to their Off Peak ticket then I apologises in advance.:oWhoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -
Thank you so much for your responses. Actually we are returning from London to Heathrow, not Bath. So purchasing the Waterloo to London Bridge tickets would be solely to satisfy the 2for1 requirements, not for actual travel.
My wife gets embarrassed easily and does not take well to my thrifty ways so maybe we had better buy 4 one ways:
(1) London Bridge to Waterloo and then (2) Waterloo back to London Bridge.
does it matter which ticket comes first?
Thanks to all! Frank0 -

Getting the 7 day travelcard would be too expensive for our itinerary. as some days we will be primarily walking.
If we go with buying the 4 singles,
(1) London Bridge to Waterloo and then (2) Waterloo back to London Bridge.
does it matter which ticket comes first; i.e., outward /inward?
Thanks again! frank0 -

Thanks again! frank"If for example you are buying single tickets, e.g.Advance tickets to London for a one-way journey on a Monday, and Advance tickets for departing London on a Friday you will be able to use the vouchers during the Monday-Friday period, provided you show both outward and return tickets (remember to tell the train company staff that you need to keep your outward tickets!)."
Perhaps fill out this e-form and ask the days out guide website the question direct, that way your wife won't get embarrassed if it's not correct.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -
Hi,
Does this offer work with a ticket purchased on-line (i.e Train line) or do I need to purchase it from a station?
Also, do i need to purchase a return or will a single do?
Thanks,

Why buy from the trainline or any third party seller though? They charge booking fees, etc.
Go to your nearest National rail station and buy an Anytime Single from Vauxhall to Waterloo for each person at £2.20 each.
Ticket must be valid on the day of visiting the attraction.
No need to buy a return ticket, but if you are in London for several days maybe buy two singles (one out and one back) to cover the period of your visit.0 -
That is fantastic.
Thank you very much for the quick reply.0 -

Depends really on what your plans are, if your hotel and attractions are all in Zone one and your walking then why spend all the extra cash?
Or if your a London regular with an Oyster card then you need a cheap way to work the 2for1 deal, as Oyster cards ain't valid.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0
