kwh consumption figures for July 2011 to July 2012 are the figures i was working from (as shown on the bills),

Very soon, if not already any bill should include your annual statement at page 4. This gives an accurate previous consumption and Edf's unsubstantiated projected future consumption. Compare. If your July 2012 bill does not have a page 4, wait until 30 days has elapsed from your last bill date and submit readings. This should generate a bill with an 'annual statement'.

Alternatively ask Edf to try generating a bill. Disappointing that the adviser did not seem to be aware of that.:(:(

Great. Despite assurances that I would remain on the Fixed Saver V2 tariff until 30th September, they've only gone and put me on EDF Blue as of 23rd August. Only noticed when I looked at the most recent bill.

And just to compound the issue, I've been sat listening to the instrumental version of Take on Me by A-ha for the past 30 minutes, waiting for someone to answer my call...

...and they have.

Convenientally, the person I spoke to at EDF neglected to put any notes on my account after our conversation last week. And now I have to wait for a supervisor to look into it.

Anyone else experienced similar issues?

No. Did mine online and have the confirmation email.
Just checked my online account and it says I'm still on the Fixed S@ver v2.
Nothing would surprise me with EDF though! :)

I'm in the same boat, on EDF fixed s@ver V2 ending 30.9.12. Just phoned EDF and had EXCELLENT service from Rebecca, who's first comment when I asked her my options was to inform me that as I had received my letter notifying me my current tarrif is ending that even if I switched providers they would not charge me the exit fee (£50 as I have both gas and electric from them). I know all the debate about whether this differs to the t's and c's in the contract, etc. but she was adamant that once I had the letter the exit fee wouldn't apply if I switched. As it happens I opted for the Blue +Price Promise April 2014 anyway, and had the option to either do this myself online (using link posted earlier in this thread) or they could do it for me over the phone. I opted for the online option, and also asked them about the change in URL when you click on the link. Rebecca tried this in parallel with me and confirmed this is a genuine EDF link. She also pointed out that a) I would get an e-mail confirming the switch (which I got straight away), b) I wouldn't get any new contract paper work until early Oct, and c) the DD was "unlikely to change", as my review date isn't until next June. I asked if there was a need to submit final meter readings on 30th Sept, and she thought that would be a good idea, but not specifically required. Q: Any thoughts on whether this is a good or bad idea?
So, all in all, thanks in part to this thread the whole experience was excellent, quick and really straightforward!

It's definitely a good idea to take a reading when you're changing tariff! It means you're billed at the correct rates for all the energy. No risk of them pretending you used 99% of your energy after a price rise. If you don't give a reading for the price change, they'll estimate one for you which could be to your advantage or your detriment, no real way to know.

Just looking for a bit of advice.

With all the talk of switching tariffs at the moment, I am pondering on whether to change from EDF PP2013 to EDF Blue + Price Promise 2014.

The comparison sites say I should be about £100 per year better off if I switch, I contacted EDF and they said I would have to pay £25 each for gas and electric to switch.

Seems like the best option would be to switch now?

What do people think? Am I missing something?

Or wait until 1/10 and change then if Blue has not been pulled.

I asked the same question by email and received the following answer by email "I can confirm that in changing to the Blue+ Price Promise April 2014 you will not incur any termination fees".

Anyway even by your numbers the worst case would be a first year saving of £50 and a second year saving of £100 plus or minus price movement.

I would say get cracking before the tariff is pulled. If you are registered on MyAccount you can use the 'change tariff' function and it will all be done automatically. Seamless (so far) with my change. Note the advice of others to submit readings on or around the change date.
