Changing tariff with EDF

Was told if i changed now she would have to read the contract out and would take time, consequently i left it.
This is your choice entirely. Put yourself first and decide what you really want. Though Edf "systems" are below average, IME the advisers are above average in demeanor. A workaround was offered, you declined.0 -
Quite right but the advisor stated she would sort it for me immediately and email me.Looking at the price rises just posted i will have to do it on the phone dam quick.0

Just updated to Blue Energy 2014 over the phone.Start date 01/10/2012.The advisor sent email to confirm.Would advise anybody to sign up to a fixed tariff immediately to beat the inevitable price rises. Thanks all for comments on this thread.0

In light of Scottish Powers huge increase I've used the link in this thread to switch from Fixed Saver (30th Sept) to Blue online. Received the email immediately so can now relax till April 2014. Thanks for everyones input.0

SSE raised their prices today not Scottish Power, but I think it is generally accepted that prices will rise with all companies soon (EON promise no increase up to end of year according to moneysaving expert).
Going for current best buy deals, especially ones like the EDF Blue with no get out charges, is a good insurance policy for fuel prices in my opinion.0 -
For those looking through these threads following todays price rise announcement by SSE, the following is the web link for EDF customers if you want to move from Fixed Saver Version 2 to Blue+Price promise April 14, you can apply now but the change over will not happen until the Fixed Saver finishes on 30/09/12.

Just come off live chat on EDF site as I had same tariff and have changed to Blue 2014. I was told there would be no exit penalties from present tariff which ends Sep.Cheers!!!0

Hmm.
Called EDF this morning as my Fixed Saver V2 tariff is due to expire at the end of September and could I go with their Blue plan from the 1st October.
Person I spoke to gather me two options:
1. I swap to EDF Blue with immediate effect.
2. She calls me a week before my current tariff ends and goes through the necessary legal jargon.
With regards to option two, I said I was unhappy in case EDF pulls the plug on the Blue product or increases the prices, to which she told me that wouldn't be the case.
I'm not so sure. Asked to speak to her line manager, and... got cut off.
Take two...
Edit: Took four attempts, but I got there in the end and spoke to a rather helpful lady. Seems to be pot luck as to whether you get someone who knows what they're doing or not!0 -

It's still not clear (at least not to me) if existing EDF customers on Fixed Saver V2 who sign up via this link are actually guaranteed access to Blue+ Price Promise 2014 from 1/10, even if EDF should pull it from sale before 1/10, as now seems more likely given the SSE announcement? No free lunch, and no free laptop0
