Hi Rach - losing weight will make a difference to the overhang, but it's unlikely to get rid of it altogether, unfortunately. If it's a serious problem you can be referred for surgery on the NHS, specially if you have tried to eliminate it through diet and exercise. No good news about your bust either, sadly, the reason you've got a good sized bust at the moment is because they are padded with extra fat, and once this is gone you'll be left with breast tissue. On the positive side, small breasts aren't affected by gravity as much as large ones! (Apologies to any larger breasted ladies reading :o )

    There's always plastic surgery :o
but then i'll just like an orang utan :rotfl:

Rach that is the first thing H said when all this started 'are your boobs going to be affected?:rotfl: :rotfl: They have been and will be because you loose weight from all areas but the stubborn one that could see some serious weight off is the stomach:eek:

    Hi Victory -
Don't be so hard on yourself - you've done really well, you'll get there.

    LL

I know thanks but I have 'issues' Just been to the school and I look around and see this well co-ordinated outfit or this new classy looking hair-style and think 'oh I like that' wish I could dress like that or look like that, it is not so much envy as the not knowing how to achieve it.

Before I spent my life hiding-once I went to work with a coat on and underneath was a cardigan, the longest top the shops will sell before it gets to a dress:rotfl: a t-shirt underneath that, all that was to keep the stomach away from the public:D

I have been snidded and sneered at various places because of the weight, I have lied to my H (he has to attend lots of long dress do's with his work) I was always 'ill' just before the event so I did not have to go, invested a fortune in M&S flattening Bridget Jone's;) then when it got too much would use the kids as an excuse and not go at all, saving the horror of looking for a dress that would flatten the stomach which never exsisted:D

So, now the weight is nearly 3 stone gone I expected to feel liberated, happy, ecstatic even to be able to choose the clothes, I thought I would be swaggering with the 'look at me' smile on my face. I have read many a book and they do say that too much is put on the weight loss and not enough on the inner feelings of comfort within your own skin and the psychological side of 're-inventing yourself'.

I look at the clothes and still stick to what I know, I invariably wear cargo trousers or jeans with a high waist (although not as high as Simon Cowell:rotfl: :rotfl: to hide the stomach, with a high neck top (do not own any skirts, dresses, shorts or V neck tops either then or now) I do go on the internet and look at the lovely summer clothes that are out there and think they look lovely but on someone else, not me so end up not getting them and using feeble excuses for it, my H did make a mild comment that my clothes are more functional than a fashion statement and it is rare that I look feminine which is true, there are only trousers in my wardrobe!!

I exepcted my confidence to improve, my clothes to change, my swagger to grow, the smile to beam and not be able to keep me indoors as I used to be because I felt so good....

Someone suggested to go swimming and I nearly passed out with the horror of even thinking aobut buying a swimming costume and be seen in it so said no, not unless I loose the weight (oh for God's sake I have lost enough!)

I read this all gets emotional and there are feelings there that have been lying there dormant in the process of the weight loss that need to be dealt with and expressed but you also hear all the time that the person that has lost the weight sees what they always saw- a large person.....

My H says look at the lack of chins or look at your legs, they do not rub together now ( I went on my 1st hol to Spain last year in 6 years, always said no before and with the heat and the legs rubbing I got a huge red rash in between and it was very painful to walk with or as my H called it leg nappy rash:rotfl: :rotfl: )

I seem to be swimming in the this is what I knew (largeness) and cannot do the transition to me now and having the freedom of life, clothes, exercise, playing with the kids etc.

    Morning all

Just a quick one, looks like a maintain for me this week. Not overly unhappy about that for all the various reasons I have :) (Injuries, training couse, no gym etc)

Victory, how I feel for you ((hugs)) it is really hard I know, but look at what you have done so far. Ok the weight is not coming off in the places you would like. It hasnt with me either. Swimming could help as well as the cycling and the stomach crunches suggested by others.

I have found that I still get the looks and comments and it can be really hurtful, I almost want a T-shirt proclaiming the amount of weight I lost!! I do realise I have a way to go and that in all honesty I will never ever be a slim hunk, just a slimmer hunk :)

Not sure about dress sizes ;) but from last weeks experience in M&S sizes seems to change depending on the suppiler, I bought a pair of linen trousers in M&S and only went down a size when compared to my M&S jeans, which are fallen off me. However I have a pair of Levis that are a size smaller. There was an article on the radio about 'vanity sizing' in that the size on the label now bears no relation to the actual size.

So worry not. You know your doing really well, you know you deserve it and you know your damm worth it :)

Well done beanie with your 1lb loss:j :j :j it's even better when you don't expect it. Hope you have a better day today.

Suggs - a maintain is better than a gain (ooh! it rhymes - didn't mean to - but perhaps we should make it a mantra :D )

Victory Please don't keep beating yourself so hard :grouphug: . You have, and still are, doing so well. MrP tells me that I have a distorted image of myself, and like you I can't come to terms with any other at the moment, it really is  I think that a compliment from a stranger would mean more, but that seems cruel to our loved ones. Perhaps we can try and overcome this together, although I must say I think I'm a lost cause. You will still remain a valued source of inspiration to all of us here (so there!!:p )

Good luck to you who still have to WI

I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

    Morning,

Does the *I've lost 2 lb* dance of glee :j

I've not been overly good (I never am but don't beat myself up about it too often :D) but I've not had any bread and butter since last Thursday and swear that's made a big difference. Plus I also did the free coleslaw over the weekend and the onion bhajis with tzatiki as I'm not keen on raita. Also the farm shop near me had some lovely large new potatoes which were divine on Sunday with mushy peas.

I think the recipes were thanks to consultant31 so thanks and if it wasn't consultant31 then thanks whoever :p . Been reading the thread all week without been logged in and it's hard to comment on something that was posted pages and pages ago.

Well done to all losers and those who maintained. Hugs to anyone who gains but as long as you keep joining the day 1 club you'll get there - you know you will.

victory - if you are having problems with 'image' as you see yourself how about going to one of the fashion advisors that were been talked about a while ago. Getting a total stranger to pick out a new wardrobe for you and getting you clothes to try on that you wouldn't even look twice at may help.
