Well motivated by this thread, I took the plunge and enrolled at weight watchers today. Not really sure I understand it all yet, but know the core plan will be better for me, I cant stop at just one piece of chocolate, better to not have it at all.
    Any tips welcome!!!

    Hi Susieb!
Another WWer here! Are you going to meetings, or are you online?

I'm doing WW online, following the points plan - couldn't seem to get on with the core plan (couldn't seem to stop eating when 'comfortably full' ). Completely agree with you though about the chocolate (well, I say that, but for me it's cheese or crisps, don't really like chocolate much!) - I've got a toddler, so higher calorie things are in the house, but I somehow manage to avoid them...!

I've done WW before and lost 2.5st, so know it works - Victory has already suggested the things I would have said. Definitely drink at least 2 ltrs of water a day...I would also add that you should make sure you eat enough...not sure what the rules are for the core plan, but keep your blood sugar up by having healthy snacks between meals - and don't forget your 21 points for treats either!

I've rambled on a bit, but hope it helps, and good luck!

No, had to move the goal posts because my stomach is still there, all the weight is fat on the stomach and I am very self conscious of it (very hard to come down dress sizes when there is a full fat stomach going on:D ) so moved it from 3 lb to go to 7 lb to go as I figure not only will that have to reduce the fat on the stomach but that will give me the 3 lb lea-way I was hoping for like they do in SW where you have a 3lb buffer.....

On the subject of lack of self confidence.....I have lost the weight but still cannot get past the dress size down, the visual of me now, I only see me then how can it be turned round to see me now? I have tried the acceptance, mirror looking things Paul Mackenna suggests but all I see is fat, me fat....

Hi Victory - if you keep up the cycling, you will start to see a difference with your stomach. You probably don't realise it, but cycling doesn't just use your leg muscles - it also uses the abdominals :D It's hard to shift weight from specific areas by dieting alone, so you may need to combine it with specific exercise to tone the area - as well as cycling you could try using an ab-trimmer. I was just about to try to describe one, and changed my mind! Here's a picture:

Don't be so hard on yourself - you've done really well, you'll get there.

Yes, have to agree Victory I think this whole issue of how we see ourselves is such a difficult one.
Although I am obviosly slimmer having lost over a stone I just dont feel it or see it when I look in the mirror.Interesting, as not sure how we move forward on this.
Anyway did loose 1 lb which is more than I deserve so am pleased.

Made my own version of cheese sauce to put on some pasta, with peas, sweetcorn and ham. Anyone know how much syns it is for cornflour or mustard? I used milk from allowance and melted in 4 lite dairylea triangles, plus ff fromage frais. One DS loved it, other threw a fit and refused to eat it. How can they say they dont like it just by looking at it???

Hi Jo - I posted a recipe for cheese sauce for Dixie a couple of days ago - there's a link here. Cornflour is 3.5 syns per tablespoon, I think mustard is free..? Someone else may correct me on that one, but I can't imagine it would be many syns for the small amount you'd use in cheese sauce.
Have tried to look at ( and understand) the mix2match but havent quite got the hang of it.

    Jo

Let me give you an example of a day's menu on mix2max:

Breakfast - 2 weetabix (HEB) and milk (HEA) - neutral i.e. the same on red and green

Mid morning snack - banana - superfree food as fruit is free on both red and green

Lunch - pasta bake - free food on green
    Muller light - superfree food

Afternoon snack - 2 finger kitkat - 6 (?) syns, the same whether eaten on red or green

Dinner - grilled chicken, roasted vegetables - free food on red - 198g new potatoes (HEB)
Fresh fruit salad and fromage frais - superfree foods

Evening snack - left over pasta bake - although this was free food at lunchtime, on Mix2Max this would need to be counted as the highest syn value i.e. as though it was eaten on a red day.

The trick with Mix2Max is to be aware of which foods are superfree foods, as these can be utilised as snacks between meals, in place of snacks that are definitely red or green, like meat on a green day, or pasta on a red day. Superfree foods include any of the Quorn range that is free on SW (mince, fillets, pieces, sausages), fruit, any vegetables that are free on red, Quark, LF fromage frais and muller light.

    Does that help? :)

Hi Rach - losing weight will make a difference to the overhang, but it's unlikely to get rid of it altogether, unfortunately. If it's a serious problem you can be referred for surgery on the NHS, specially if you have tried to eliminate it through diet and exercise. No good news about your bust either, sadly, the reason you've got a good sized bust at the moment is because they are padded with extra fat, and once this is gone you'll be left with breast tissue. On the positive side, small breasts aren't affected by gravity as much as large ones! (Apologies to any larger breasted ladies reading :o )

    There's always plastic surgery :o

For quickness, I can tell you it's on page 33.

For future reference go to the first post in the thread, click on the link to Lois Lanes 2 pound weight loss club, then when the new window opens, click on the link to the current chart. (This may seem complicated, but it is the quickest way!)

I haven't done the chart for this week yet - it's done on Wednesdays now, so check back tomorrow night.
