Good grief^^ so much to catch up on - good job my boss called in to say he's taking the rest of the week off so I got to read everything!
Too much trouble to go back cutting and pasting but welcome back Consultant31, sorry to hear of your loss Honey28 and I'm so pleased that victory is back to her old self. I was so upset that you had gotten yourself into such a state. Whenever I feel a little low I can pop in here and usually between your and Petrichors' posts I can have a giggle.
Well done to everyone who lost or maintained. Well done even to those who gain - just the fact that you keep coming back and do not give up is great.
My but things seem to have got a little heated about 8 pages ago  Welcome to any new posters that have joined over this last week. I'm new myself and must be the laziest 'healthy eater' here. Hope you stick with us
I brought Gammon and eggs in to work today to share with my boss but seeing as he isn't going to be here I guess I'll just have to eat it all myself. What a shame
Lastly I maintained but am not worried 'cos I know what I've being eating. I just hope it doesn't show next week ><0 -
I lost 3lbs :j :j :j
i guess counting calories worked for me although i did get laughed at by my OH  and DD got confused cos she's used to me counting points or syns. she saw me writing stuff down again so asked how many i had left for the day whilst waving a mini milky way in my face over easterher face was a picture when i said about 700 :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
anyhow intend to stick to 1500 again this week, only got my OH's b-day to contend with but at least i'm catering so i know what i'm eating / drinking
well done everyone on your losses / maintains so far
btw, i reckon mrs suggs has suggs chained to the sink :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

MAybe I'll try calorie counting for a week instead of SW - now this is probably a daft question - but how do I do it? Do I just look at the packaging and find out how many cals in what I am about to eat then add them up? What about fruit/veg etc
And how many do you have per day?

The guideline daily amount of calories for an adult is about 2000 calories so you need to eat less than this to lose weight. I think most people eat between 1200 and 1800 a day depending on their current weight. I have been having 1500 a day for a while now but am gonna try and cut down to 1200 this week as I don't do much exercise. Packaging is usually well labelled but it is a bit of a pain working it all out.0 -
Well done stilernin and loopy-loo73 on your great losses, and well done to Erlqueen and jab17 for maintaining. :j :j
victory "I am off to do my cycling pied piper bit around the estate again"- I really wish I could see you do this-you are such an inspiration!0 -
Honey, I am doing the sw plan and I also count the calories and its strange cos it usually works out at about 1200 cals a day. I only do it cos Im ultra keen at the moment (even tho I didnt loose) and today I weighed myself and it says ive gone up 1 lb..WHAT IS GOING ON ?
I have started the pill 4 weeks ago , could this make me gain weight ?
I have been such a good girl and just cant understand whats happening,
Im starting to think Ive got some thyroid problem or something .Kindness costs nothing0 -

Your calorie intake should be 1,200, if it was 1,500 to begin with and you have less to loose as you do, the calorie intake has to be reduced accordingly, helps the weight loss even more if you exercise but if not then 1,200 calories is what is best....
All the foods these days have calories on the back of them and the ones at Sainsburys for example have a wheel of colour red for high and danger avoid, green for amber and not so bad and yellow chomp away!!
For breakfast the oatsosimple has it on the sachet, the weetabix on the box as well as the shreddies, watch out for pre packed sandwiches at lunch time because I got caught out once and the calories for the sadwich was 325:eek:
Fruit well I know a banana small one has 83 calories, an apple 75, if you google calorie count then have reams of websites that you can go on for free and put in your food item and they calorie count it for you, or even some of them do your daily intake if you put in what you have had.
Sure it can be tiresome but I have done it that way and it gets easier and common sense prevails that a chocolate doughnut is going to be high in calories and should be avoided at all costs where as a cucumber is minimal points and should be eaten all day long:rotfl:
loopy I am really pleased that calorie counting worked for you, yeahhhhhhh, see, a little dedication is all it takes!!!0 -
